If you could recommend one artist....
Who would it be and why???
Can be well-known people but it might be nicer to have artists who ain't that well known. |
FOZZY.
 they're aaaamazing. & they have a new album coming out soon.<3 |
The Books. Their music is odd
|
Tegan & Sara
or Royksopp |
Mark Owen<333
Whose only famous song Four Minute Warning is probably his worst. He is an amazing singer/songwriter and is greatly underestimated by the public as an important part of Take That. His solo albums-In Your Own Time and How The Mighty Fall are IMMENSE. |
Oh and Sigur Ros
|
Porcelain And The Tramps.
Alaina Beaton is an amazing vocalist, and writer. Their songs are lyrically amazing and full of energy. |
Lady Gaga. A bit obvious, LOL.
Oh and Melanie Fiona is a great singer too, she should be noticed more. |
All Time Low. They have quite a small UK fanbase but are huge in the US and they are amazing<3 If anyone has my last.fm, you can find some of their music on there. :)

robert pattinson while most know him as a actor he has a amazing singing voice he writes his own stuff and plays both piano and guitar his voice has a bit of a blues vibe to it and is truly beautiful i would love for him to release a album but he has no plans at the mo and is focusing on acting

The Pixies

I am gonna recommend Kelly Clarkson, but I recommend watching her live rather than buying her albums. Her songs on her albums are good but until you see them live they are nothing. Kelly is really weird and she tends to be better live than on her albums. Check her out on youtube... I've seen her live 3 times and the 3rd time she was the best... small intimate venue, I had goosebumps the whole show.
She doesn't have dancers or fancy costumes, she dresses up in a t-shirt and jeans, and just belts out the songs. Acoustic and some with full bands (some times with a brass band too) |
It depends on a persons taste. It is no good me recommending Portishead to someone for instance if they don't like trip hop.
Their music is moody and ambient. Some of it can be very dark, whilst other tracks can be chilled out. Their most well known track I would say is "Glory box". I love Beth Gibbons vocals, and I could not compare them to anyone elses. "Dummy" is my favourite album. Their last album "Third" takes some getting used to and I would not recommend it as an album to buy first off for someone new to their music. It takes time to break in, and you will either love it or hate it. Similar artists would be Tricky and Massive Attack. |
off-topic, but Baz, your avatar dancing to what I'm currently listening to (Blockster's "You Should Be Dancing") is ****ing epic.

LISA MITCHELL
I adore her sfm. A bit like Sara Bareilles, Diana Vickers, Lily Allen, she was on Australian Idol in 2006 and just released her debut album. Her song Neopolitan Dreams is used on the ad for fabric softener with the girl tumbling down the mattresses and her new single Coin Laundry is amazing |
Sonic Youth
Pretty much the majority of their back catalogue to be honest. |
