I dont think they knew he was going to be the way he was, they panicked and put him in... I have to say though if they dont want housemates climbing on roofs why put trellis up that they can use???? I think they do that on purpose

No the man was put in because BB bought his BS,

he wanted to go in to increase his and karly's profile, to beome the next beckhams, he was gobbing off about his plans on his returns from mummy's just before he went absent prior to entering BB
