Are BB Voters Hypocrites?

Everyone complains when great housemates leave, and say the show is dull, yet THEY voted out those great housemates. Science, Victor, Sree etc all left way before their time.

And what happens when someone like me comes along and offers an alternative (punishment votes instead of eviction votes)?

They reject it without any real developed arguments. Sheesh, BB could be so much better if the plebs would wake up and smell the coffee, and that goes for the BB producers too. What a bunch of thick ***** we have as both voters and a production team. No wonder BB never reaches its full potential, with plebs like you lot :joker:

Not always because not everyone votes every week, so if an entertaining housemate was voted out and someone complained, they might not have voted that week

You really don't have anything better to do with your life do you?

I agree that people vote out the most entertaining housemates, and they're idiots because of it, but a vote to save would solve that.

Your idea would work for a week or two, but getting rid of the most fundamental part of any TV show does not.

I don't think it works quite like that, although I agree MANY are hypocrities like this!

I think, when it comes to eviction night, it's geared towards haters to vote; unless you're a big enough fan of one of the two who are up, so you try and evict the other automatically.

But the current format is geared towards haters. The many who complain about BB declining and being dull, often don't even vote and just watch for the fun of it, or whatever.

I mean, I rarely vote, yet I love BB. The voters tend to be the hater type, certainly on eviction night.

Vote to Save would work better. More geared towards fans and HMs 'doing stuff' to be noticed/valued.

Whilst you seem to understand my points, the latter part of your post here is pretty much nonesensical. The most hated (ie interesting) housemates will still be up! lol, so choosing which one to save STILL leaves a gaping hole as far as entertainment is concerned! Voting to save is pretty much pointless.

And this is why NO public votes should be held in regards to evictions, and why punishment votes should be the standard for future BB's.

If they're up, the voting dynamic will be different if it's vote to save. The wording itself will impact the voting allocations. The BB voters aren't so clever, so it will make a big difference.

Classic Case - Dullard vs Entertaining Baddie

If it's vote to evict, hardcore fans of each will evict the other. The ones who are moreso 'in between' and decide to vote, tend to evict the baddie as he/she draws that emotional reaction, hence pick up the phone.

If it's vote to save, the hardcore fans will still try and save their fave. But the ones more 'inbetween' and decide to vote, will tend to save the baddie for entertainment value. A hater of the baddie is less motivated to pick up the phone and save a bore he/she has no interest in; no emotional reaction to make them do that.

It's all about emotional investment and reaction. Hardcore fans of x, y HM invest anyway. The ones in-between who hate a HM and have that reaction, will evict. But in a vote to save, entertainers will get votes from in-betweeners who feel that reaction of "wow, entertaining!".

I agree it's not the optimal solution. Just a proposal if they continue eviction nights.

EXAMPLE: Jason was a panto villain and got 2nd in 2004. Rex got 4th and the votes were very close, a bit more and he was easily 2nd/3rd.
Makosi got 3rd and had done tons to be hated.

Vote to Save still has the hardcore fans saveing their fave, but the rest will decide to pick up the phone and save the baddie; emotional reaction of entertainment.

Ideally yes, but whether they'd make the same money, and whether they'd be happy with no/few eviction nights, is another story. If there are eviction nights, Vote to Save will help to tilt the votes in the entertaining HMs' favour.

All those people who are not hardcore fans of either of the two who are up (so that's MOST fans) ... it's these votes that shift. The haters in this group will be less inclined to vote, the ones who appreciate entertainment are more inclined to vote.

You really are a sorry fool aren't you?
Can't you get it into your head that, not only do most of us LIKE to see housemates booted out, and not only is the eviction a great way of getting rid of HMs we have no desire to watch, but the infantile way you ridicule anyone who attempts to put forth their own viewpoint offends other forum members and is counterproductive to your cause.

Why the hell are you that bothered anyway - don't you have any other thoughts or ideas to contribute?
