Do you ever wonder what it would be like to be filmed?

During BB, when I am doing things like going shopping, sitting having a cuppa or just here on the PC, I find myself wondering what it would be like to be on camera doing all these things.

I also wonder if I would do them differently and how what I am doing would come across to a tv audience.

Do any of the rest of you feel like this?

Slartibartfast 28-06-2005 12:15 PM

I always feel very paranoid any time I know I'm on camera. We have a cctv system at the entrance to my work and I'm always concious of being watched. Don't know if I could handle it all day in the BB house!

Ruth 28-06-2005 12:16 PM

I definitely couldn't handle it. I think they focus on the slightest glances and gestures and can make them look like something they're not.

No I couldnt cope with it either like they said in Media its the same as camcorders some people play up to them and some people just shy away

Aimee 29-06-2005 06:07 PM

I sometimes wonder what the BB audience would think of me if they were watching me, do you?

I would hate it if it was me......... would i act up? probably would i be truly me? not sure......

A company in America called Western Electric wanted to find out if their employees were more productive with bright lights or more productive with dim lights.

They measured productivity levels at various different light levels expecting to see production increases at either bright or dim lights. Instead productivity went up both when the lighting level was increased and when it was reduced.

The reason for this is workers knew they were being observed, and this made them feel more important because they were being singled out, so they changed their behaviour. The effect is known as the Hawthorne effect after the factory where these studies were carried out.

It's a bit like the housemates on Big Brother I think.

hmms.. I reckon I would be a total prat on there. I am 31 now, and I have watched some of the younger girls on it and I know I would have done and said some of that stuff too when I was their age. I am truly glad I didn't ever get the chance to do it, because I just KNOW I would be cringeing at it now.

As for going on it now - I would be a nightmare. I don't have the nickname "stropz" for nothing you know. I really am an argumentative loudmouth sometimes, and I would definitely be voted out in the first week!!! I might even get my own I HATE THE STROPPY SCOTTISH CHICK thread on here ....

*Note to self* ---Do not apply!

You did it then stroppy! - good on ya, I'm sure you know we like you on here!

Due to the increase of CCTV we ARE on cameras quite a lot these days, the police use them, shops use them football grounds etc. There have been tv shows showing clips from them, but, we didn't sign up for it - we have no choice. I wouldn't like the intensity of it, although I could see it being great fun - but .. I would be out quick, cos I would have thumped Craig well before now, I see the plans & mind game strategies (I have to do it for a living, day in day out at work) - his is the nastiest game plan I've seen on BB, Nasty Nick nowhere near this guy, & lacking a six pack, that wouldn't save me either! Respect to those who do go for it though, - at our mercy as well as the passive viewers. Oh, I have a really white arse too!!! No hope there then!

Kore 29-06-2005 09:25 PM

lol coltrane, i always see you type anti-craig posts
