Average Age Range Of \"TIBBS\" Members.

I've often wondered what is the average age range of TIBBS members.

I am more of a reader now than a poster and sometimes to me a posters age seems very apparent and other times it's hard to tell just what age they may be.

I know that a lot of the topic`s discussed here are age based related!!!!!!!!, but some are not.

Thanks everyone for you participation!

Most people are under 18 from previous polls I think.

I'm 20.

From most of the posts and arguing I would say 13-16. I wonder if we can have an over 18's section that is viewable to over 18's only? I do that on some of my forums because then you do not get the spammy childish threads.

How would we prove who is over 18?

WAYNEEBRUM 02-08-2009 09:20 AM

Id increase it to over 25s but impossible to do i suppose.

Agreed! Yes, you can often tell by language and comments made what age group that particular individual is likely to belong to. Quite frustrating really - because then can't have serious and interesting exchange of opinions!!

The other problem with that is that you would be excluding all under 18's, there are some on here that would be excluded even though they post intelligently. Christina would be an obvious example. I know what you are saying and in many ways I agree but it would also be punishing the good ones. Im sure there are some are over 18 as well that just don't act like it and it wouldn't exclude them either.

Im a bitter 28, but happy with said bitterness.

I would say that better moderating would help, but that would be a massive job to keep track of everything that happens, it can only be a hard enough thankless task now, let alone with it.

Guess it just means we have to ignore posters/threads and not respond or rise to the bait on occasion. There are plenty of posters that I ignore (without using the ignore button) or don't respond to but still read, groan and move on. Whilst it does mean trawling through some pointless comments is annoying it just makes me appreciate the ones that aren't a little bit more.

I forgot to vote - I voted for the 29-35 age group as thats more like I would say I am (ha!) than being 18-28. That just seems a weird age range for me. Maybe 18-25 is better...

Either way, hey Haggis, haven't seen you for ages, I know your offline now (well not now, but ealier) but I hope you are well and all is good.

I think the moderating is great here. The one thing I'd pull the site up on is not having IP bans..........nursey aka dennissabre came back the other day and was more abusive to FMs before nursay got banned too

I don't think you are questioning me, but I will state that I think the mods do a great job that is very hard, time consuming and much underthanked. (so thank you!) I was just suggesting that if there were more then some of the threads/arguments could be seen quicker (as more mods) and then trouble could stop brewing up. Some times there are no mods on, or just one. There are a lot of threads and it must be hard to keep track of everything...especially as I don't think they are trigger happy with bans that are unnesccasry (from the ones I have seen).

Problem with IP bans is that you could block someone that shares a PC. God knows if I was 12 and my sister was blocking me from the PC I might have been evil enough to get her banned so I could have access to it (I am no longer 12 nor that evil (well....)).

Think previous posts such as "hope someone's relatives die in a plane crash" and "will Sophie get her tits out" say it all. My point proved I think!!
