Bea is ignorant about the Apollo Moon Landings
 

Bea has said the Moon landings were faked and buying in to conspiracy theories that do not hold water.

She has therefore showed she is ignorant of the actual science involved

As for the Russians, they along with other countries were tracking the Apollo craft and if there had been any faking, they would have exposed it as they were enemies with of America at the time due to the cold war.

Damn her for having a long and interesting conversation with anyone about the possibilities of government conspiricy. This "there were no moon landings" nonsense has been debunked so many times it is laughable. The fact that Bea buys into this rubbish merely indicates that even otherwise intelligent and educated individuals can acquire utterly ridiculous sets of beliefs through sheer gullibility.

Actually I will never ever believe that Oswald shot Kennedy. The other two I believe but never in my wildest dreams will I ever believe Oswald shot and killed him.

This is my problem with Bea, while I enjoyed her conversation with Marcus last night greatly, she is very misinformed on a lot of the topics she chooses to preach about, the moon landings being just one of them.

It's also very ironic that most of her information comes from internet sites and TV programmes, not first hand knowledge of any situation, yet last night she was preaching about how people watching too much TV and spending all their time online and not actually 'doing things' contributes to all that is wrong with society today.

So while she appears intelligent, and without question she puts herself across much better than a lot of people in the house, she actually makes herself look like a total hypocrite.

Yess, I'd like to see some proof that it never happened too. :conf: Everything else that the 'non-believers' have said has been proven wrong so how exactly were they fake?

And she's on a TV show!

That was to do with politics more than anything else. The problem was the Moon race was considered just that.

After the Soviets were beaten they decided they wanted to spend the money on other things and so Apollo was cancelled They then decided to build the shuttle as a cheap way into space, and it proved exactly the opposite. Also in terms of safety, Apollo was far safer. Three dead in a simulator on a ground test compared with 14 dead on Challenger (O ring Failure) and Columbia (Insulation tiles knocked off by falling foam from the External Tank)

This also meant a lot of people left NASA and went onto other things so a lot of the know how was lost.

Incidentally the Lunar Reconnaissance Orbiter has now imaged the Apollo landing sites
