BB must choose between being a show for ADULTS or children

Cant be both......Obviously I favour a show for adults ie anyone over 16........
you cant be both with this type of show......

unfortunately the desire to keep the tweenies on board with a role model clean cut youngster desperately undermines the show and has done in recent years..........

Grace Dent steering Rodrigo to victory is good for the kiddies (teens)........just as she did for Rachel Rice but BADDO for adult viewing.....

BUt i tune into BB after the 9pm watershed because I want and expect an adult show...........in fact an adult show would GET far higher ratings......

keeping it safe for the tots will only destroy BB ultimately. SAD but true.

Big Brother should be for whoever, you're just saying this because someone you like will go, everyone has the right to watch the show and vote for who they want to evict, win or save.

Must?

What the Hell are You on about.

Endemol do Two versions
a Edited version shown in the Morning
and a Adult version after 9 or 10 PM.

So Nothing Needs to Change
Fact.

Not with you on this one when you consider the petulant behaviour of Marcus, Siavash and Freddie over last few days. Sure Marcus has repeatedly acted like a little boy over the course of the show. I don't think you can accuse one group of acting less maturely than the other at this stage.

How dare you not agree with me all the time. lol. When did our swords cross before?

BBmassive 11-08-2009 06:44 PM

If bb was for children (and children DO watch) the producers ought to be ashamed they didnt remove Mucus for his vile language and the verbal abuse her saw fit to give to a young woman on last nights hl show

WAYNEEBRUM 11-08-2009 06:47 PM

its definitely steered towards the kids, the popularity of Charlie n Sophie is unbelievable when you consider how pathetic they are.

Oh how true those words are........If you track back over some posts I have made in the past I have raised this issue time and again for at least three years.......

Little response of course due to the typical age group you get on a forum like this.....The kiddies want BB for themselves. Adults don't get a look in.....

BB CH4 want the phone revenue from their pocket money....So a change to an adult BB is extremely unlikely.....

It's a matter of time that childrens childish reasons for disliking housemates and little interest in story lines will cause BB to hang up it's boots for good....

i agree...over 16

A dick? That's a tad harsh. Yeah, it was bound to have been over Noirin, who I detested from the very start of the show.

Sadly, but not entirely surprisingly, it is turning into a show for chavs, and an audience that cannot cope with anything that deviates from their comfort zone or the uniform look and talk of their friends. Really, I am more saddened than anything else

ElProximo 11-08-2009 06:54 PM

I don't think we are talking about foul-language or nipple-slips here.
We are talking about the maturity level and childishness of both contestants and how they are steered by BB.
This season has clearly taken a turn toward the 16 year olds and no better example than Marcus. The King of 16 year old boys.
(no offense to the many 16 year old boys who are actually far more mature than Marcus),
but,
This thing yesterday where these idiots were being playtime yobs was surely a great program for the teens.

So I think the OP might be asking if we are going to keep going for that or is this going to go back to being what was more of a more sophisticated social and psychological experiment to intrigue adults. Mature people. Not teenagers.

Is it that hard to have a BB House that has the 'rippling abs' young men for the teen girls and then some idiots like Marcus for the boys,
and ALSO,
include grown ups, HMs over the age of 35, 45 and older who get situations that are more about 'grown up' situations and so on?

RCW1945 11-08-2009 06:57 PM

david
I think you are making a valid point but I would like to know what exactly you would want to see in an adult version which is not there now.
Most of the present HMs are of low intelligence and seem happiest when playing childish games. Watch people like Charlie, Rodrigo or David react when a task involves a dressing-up box and a chance to dance. They clap their hands and hug eachother in a fashion indistiguishable from 9 year-olds.
To fit your plan there would need to be major changes from the audition stage onwards.

I really was not going to watch BB this year, but gave the first night a go. One or two characters seemed potentially interesting so I gave it a go. It became very clear that the younger ones in there were shockingly conservative and insular in their thinking, specifically Sophie, Charlie, Kris, Karly, Noirin and amongst the older ones, Lisa. I was amazed by this. They are like these ignorant bigoted middle-aged opinionated men that used to inhabit the pubs and football terraces, just regurgitating prejudices they had read in The Sun. They are impossible to argue or reason with as they are so threatened by anything different from themselves, as demonstrated with their treatment of Freddie. They are just sheep. Sophie did improve slightly without the bad influence of kris but that showed how sheeplike her mentality is.

The fact that Charlie or Sophie could even be considered as potential winners depresses the hell out of me, and this has nothing to do with who my favourites are, it is just what they stand for. Shallow, popularity over integrity, boredom over entertainment, ignorance over intellegence, follow rather than lead, hate rather than love, and no individuality whatsoever.

The fact that characters like Marcus (ignorant pig) Halfwit (numb skull toff in cookoo land) and Siavash (Girlfriend and friend betrayer and wearer of silly clothing) could win depresses the hell out of me far more than the idea of Dogface or Charlie winning.......
