Did Charlie Just Get a \'Lock\' on the Win Last Night?

Having watched the LF overnight and just amazed at the pure horror that is Bea.
In case you missed it, Bea-lzebub just went on an non-stop inexplicable emotional terror attack on mainly Marcus but as much for the purpose of roping Freddy into it too.

To his credit Marcus, who seemed to be in the wrong place at the wrong time was about as meek as he could be and despite droning off into rants about himself and how great he is - mostly kept his mouth shut and just said 'yes ma'am',
but,
Charlie was absolutely amazing. Just excellence. He did a great job trying to keep it on a level of humour as long as possible,
when Bea went into hysteria he had her hugged and calmed as much as possible,
and,
absolutely BRILLIANT in blocking Freddy from making it to Bea (and make no mistake that was her 'greater intent') and what a superb, straight-forward, truth-bombing 1-2-3 undressing and proper spanking of the Freddy.
Really just a thing of beauty how he handled that,
and,
Then handles Marcus as politely as possible just in time to take in the returning (and still psyched) Bea,
then,
Sorts it all in the garden, comes up with a plan for the next day and sends everyone to bed all the better.

He was skillful, he was excellent, he was articulate, he put threats in their place and he did so in a way that was the best and 'everyone wins' way possible.

Up till last night, Charlie was all but locked into the Final we could safely say,
but,
I am going to go as far to say that this incident last night and his magnificent 'ownage' of the entire situation,
his best intentions,
done for the right reasons,
executed brilliantly,
This just about locks him in as the leader of this season and by a healthy margin.

Obviously anything can happen between now and then but after last night I suggest that - if the vote happened today - Charlie wins BB10?

DrunkerThanMoses 13-08-2009 12:33 PM

:yuk: No thanks i rather eat my own **** first then have him as our winner!

BB22 13-08-2009 12:33 PM

No, I don't think so.

I think Charlie has been losing more fans than he has been winning this week.

Faded 13-08-2009 12:34 PM

Did he lock the win? to be short and to the point. Hell no.

He's a waste of space!

Faded 13-08-2009 12:38 PM

It's disgusting the way he just shouts over people not letting them explain themselves.

Blink_Me 13-08-2009 12:39 PM

Did he ****?

Charlie is a hypocrite. He agrees with everyone so he doesn't look bad. But in fact, he comes of as a moron.

I see the Marcus kids felt the need to 'gangbang' on this as soon as possible,
but,
Who here wants to take a look the surveys this weekend (after this incident is edited and shown and caught on the repeats) and friendly bet that Charlie sees a boost from this?
I'm not even going to predict he necessarily gets higher percentages in the usual overall fave polls but more importantly he is going to solidify his position big-time after this is aired.
But there will be plenty of people like me who really could have taken or left Charlie. Were indifferent,
yet,
after that beautiful 'ownage', that excellent management and that skillful and well-intended job he did last night..
... he might not even become my favourite but depending on the Final 5 he may be very very likely to get my vote.

What a great job he did last night. Just excellent. THAT is how you handle social situations.
That should be a 'how-to' lesson for any future contestants.
Just excellent!

To be fair if you look at the remaining people

Lisa will get evicted asap
Bea will get evicted asap
Halfwit i think will go friday
David will get out asap

Charlie who is getting dislkied by association
marcus who i think is turning into a winner
Sophie who is dull but will be top 3
Siavash who i think is top 3
Rodrigo who is forgetable unfortunatley as i like the fact he has strong morals.

Nemo123 13-08-2009 12:53 PM

I thought Bea was charming last night. She lulled me off to sleep to dream sweet dreams with her dulcet tones regaling tales of how lovely she is. (In between which Charlie made me stir as my subconscious mind could not compute what was passing through my ears, something about a cup of beans I think, and Marcus made me even open an eye to inquire why there was no sound. But he was just staring at the ceiling.)

Actually that argument just put me OFF Charlie and I wanted him to win

halfacrown 13-08-2009 12:58 PM

Charlie's fatal error has been to back the wrong horse. Just like Bea, he thinks that because Lisa survived last week, she is popular. He's chosen the wrong side.

He's trying to bring Freddie down but having the reverse effect (Freddie has climbed again in the TIBB Favourite poll again today). The more Freddie is picked on the worse Charlie looks.

marcpaygnard 13-08-2009 12:59 PM

GET CHARLIE OUT!!!

:elephant:

ElProximo 13-08-2009 01:12 PM

Yes, but it was not that he just dismantled Freddy as if for no other reason than to pick a fight.
Fact is - Bea was outside that bedroom going monster harpy on Marcus to lure Freddy out of bed.
Charlie did Freddy a favour in that sense.

But the point here is that Charlie properly took on Freddys worst and called him out on his wrongs. No more. No less. Right to the point.
People will respect that and even Freddy Fans might even appreciate that.
and,
From the 'objective' pov of this OP its going to be a lot about what that big block of 'girl power chavs' think.
They will see Freddy and Marcus as the baddies and be more likely to sympathize with the distraught and emotional Bea.
Charlie will win their favour more than anything.

Charlie 'sided' with everyone. That was the brilliance of it.
Freddy ought to thank Charlie after all - Bea almost had him reeled in before Charlie caught him.
Had Freddy been there when Bea got back she would have destroyed him all over again.

Huge win for Charlie last night.

Faded 13-08-2009 01:17 PM

I don't think it was a win for anyone but Marcus last night, people that haven't seen straight through Bea after last night must be completely blind.

Indierock&roll 13-08-2009 01:26 PM

i thought charlie was terrible last night tbh
he was just backing bea he doesnt know all these things bea has been saying to marcus and freddie and that, also hes fine with marcus but all the blame gets shifted on to freddie?
ALL the time its noone elses fault but freddies is it

smellthecoffee 13-08-2009 01:41 PM

Given your account of what happened I'm inclined to think that the real Charlie must currently be orbiting the earth in the mothership. The little green man responsible for draining his brain of useful information sitting with his feet up, on his third fag break after tidying the whole ship and wishing all his missions were that short!

Chuckyegg 13-08-2009 01:45 PM

She is a horror. That entire thing was entirely designed to reel Freddy into the living room and begin a full-on vicious battle-to-the-death between her and Marcus and Freddy.
You bet.
She is a Harpy. A horrible monster Harpy who was most definitely doing all of the for the purely evil purpose of injecting poison.

This is why Charlie gets the massive credit in the entire thing. He did everything right in keeping Marcus and himself calm while at the same time 'talking her down' and not even allowing her plan (Freddy) to come to fruition.
Excellence!
He really just single-handedly defused her bomb and steered everyone else clear and kept the dangerous chemical Freddy from getting near her fuse.

Yes, in Bea still gets a 'win' in the big picture but Charlie kept last nights potential fire-bombing down to a minimum.
He owned Bea and the entire scene from the start to the finish.

flemin 13-08-2009 01:56 PM

Charlie looked like an absolute idiot siding with Bea and attacking Freddie who he thinks is the fave. Marcus is the only one that came out of that looking good.
