Who would YOU rather have a message from?

One or the other. And based on your response, was Bea that bad?

I'd need Derek Acorah to get a message from my mum

Chels 18-08-2009 02:07 PM

Friend.
But if my Dad was an option I'd take that, he's hilarious.

MissKittyFantastico 18-08-2009 02:07 PM

I was talking about this with my OH last night, and I really wouldn't care who I got a message from tbh.

My parents hate BB and would never want to be on any programme to do with BB, Bea knew that her mum didn't want to appear on TV also, so she was making an almighty fuss about nothing IMO.

She should be grateful she has any friends to send her a message, going by the way she seems to treat people!

LMFAO :laugh3:
I don't mean it in a nasty way though.

vivparker 18-08-2009 02:09 PM

Wouldn't mind a message from Vin Diesel - think he's lovely!

Tom 18-08-2009 02:11 PM

Mum can be substituted for any family member really, but if you'd pick a friend over family for a message then you really can't be that close to your family. I reckon its people who don't like Bea voting for friend because they know I've got a point

She's only been in the house a couple of weeks FFS!! It's not like she hasn't seen her or anybody in years and this is the only message she'd ever get from anyone again!! Her mom would probably have been mortified to go on it, I know my mom would be. And Bea knew that but still acted like a spoilt child!

I'm REALLY close to my dad and stepmum, but I wouldn't ever expect to get a message from them because they wouldn't want to be on TV, especially anything BB related. I'd want a message from my OH or my closest friend, as they would actually take notice of what was happening in the show and things BB related, my parents wouldn't.

Bea said she would have been happy to get a message from her friend Leanne if not her mum, and she knew her mum didn't want to be on TV, so she is in fact making a total fuss over something she knew already anyway!

I also thought she was pretty insensitive, bearing in mind that Charlie would love to hear from his mum but can't because she's in a coma, and also David who lost his mum to cancer. She only thinks of herself!

I do love those little unexpected posts that make you giggle even if you shouldn't!

friend
my mum thinks CH4 is little better than a porn channel ...of course she's never watched it, just reads the Daily Mail

bansheewails 18-08-2009 02:18 PM

My mum would tie me to something, lock me in a basement and set an armed guard to STOP me going on BB in the first placce! She hates the show and everything about it! She never visits during BB time incase its on, though I have told her that LF isn't on during the day anymore. So it would be a friend message for me!

:laugh2:

HalfwitFTW 18-08-2009 02:19 PM

I'd prefer my mum... but if she didnt want to be on TV like Bea's mum then I wouldnt mind a friend

vivparker 18-08-2009 02:19 PM

She should think herslef lucky that she didn't get a visit from the little men in white coats!

Yeah and I certainly wouldn't be so insulting to whichever friend had taken the time out to do my message and say why her?? Why not so & so??!!!

Whats the point in messages from home at all then?

She did mention that if she didn't want to be on TV then theres nothing she can do. But Tea wasn't one of her best friends, so although her message might have been nice it might not have been as effective to her as the rest of them. The difference between Bea, David and Charlie is that Bea actually can hear from her mum. She also mentioned time and time again she appreciates the message but would prefer another person closer to her to do it. I don't think she was insensitive, she had a very valid point imo.

I agree.... so in response to the OP's question.... Bea's response WAS quite bad, she should have just understood and accepted that her mum didnt want to be on TV. Just because Bea wants to be on TV that doesnt her mum would want to be too

Blueisthecolour 18-08-2009 02:26 PM

People are different, not hearing from my Mum wouldn't worry me.

I can understand Bea being upset though, but then again her Mum did tell her that she didn't want to be on TV apparently?

If Bea has a realy close relationship with her Mum I can understand how it might be upsetting though.

mizzy25 18-08-2009 02:26 PM

i wudnt really mind so long as i got a message. marcus,s message wasnt from his family either he was happy with his message from his mate.

Cybele 18-08-2009 02:28 PM

There ARE other options... such as NO ONE. Bea could have not gotten a message at all. BB doesn't OWE her a message. Then she might have had a reason to complain.
