Has BB really messed up this series

The lack of live feed, the double standards shown to certain HM's has been a joke, leniency or rule changes shown to certain HM's to ensure they survive (Lisa/Sophie and Rodrigo violently kicking out in the DR etc.). The editing has in some instances been ridiculous, the argument with Marcus and Bea was an example for when it was shown in the HL's Charlie looked like he was up for a sainthood. Like Noirin before her we now have Bea featuring non stop in each HL's its become a joke at times to what has been an otherwise pretty good series.

Daffodil 18-08-2009 07:51 PM

I think the live feed will be back next year.

InOne 18-08-2009 07:53 PM

Yes the editing has been a joke and BB has been very lazy this year.

setanta 18-08-2009 07:54 PM

I just think the actions they originally took on the law breakers wasn't harsh enough and this led to quite a few housemates taking more and more advantage of their leniency. Some of the decisions they made showed such blatant favouritism that it's led me to question the producers real interest in the show.

Linto99 18-08-2009 07:55 PM

They really have not done much to get people really interested in it this year!

TheDarkHorsey 18-08-2009 07:58 PM

imo this years been the best ever, its a cult classic:devil:

Not putting Sophie and Siewash up for eviction is grossly unfair.

Their punishment was that they escaped possible eviction this week.

jaymando 18-08-2009 08:13 PM

Has been a good series I think, but BB could have put a bit more effort into certain aspects of the show. The rule breaking was funny but like Setanta said above what followed with some of the decisions by BB didn't help a lot. This thing with the nominations though is silly, nominate or else.

If it isn't, I wouldn't be surprised if ratings didn't even hit 1 million.

BB has in the past tried to be too clever for its own good but at the moment I wonder if they have given up the ghost.

Agree with most of what has been said tbh, the nominations are the biggest part of the show and once HM's have been allowed to poo all over this rule then the show has drifted somewhat. We want to see the Nominations in full too and failure to nominate should result in an exit for the offending HM. The punishment for not nominating has been exploited by BB, Lisa should have been up but got off scott free, this week the HM's not nominating haven't been punished either.

 Been a great series for me. I would love more livefeed though.

decisivemoment 18-08-2009 08:29 PM

Imagine if BB had put more effort into the series instead of the pathetic attempt they have made. Some funny characters, some annoying as hell but generally a good mix. One of the problems with the format is that groups like Lisa's are still there in numbers while we have lost like people Noirin, Freddie who like them or not at least they stirred some emotion in the process.

Devoxu 18-08-2009 08:40 PM

Glad Freddie and Noirin have gone but now with Bea getting so much time its fecking getting on me tits. The favouritism towards some of the HM's is a joke alright, Sophie, Lisa seem immune from being put to the public vote and it seems so is Rodrigo. Charlies edits make me wonder is he related to a member of staff and the ineffectual way BB are dealing with those not nominating is a ludicrous.

CaPPa 18-08-2009 08:45 PM

I think that it has been a good series overall.

The only bad points have been allowing them to do whatever they want over nominations with no real punishment and some rather weak tasks.

Tom 18-08-2009 08:48 PM

Yeah, I don't think live feed has affected the ratings that much but they ruined it with a stupid launch night twist, housemates we've seen before who were rubbish for the best part of 8 weeks and lack of atmosphere on launch night. Oh messing with nominations as well, I thought they jacked that in last year?

Jezzy 18-08-2009 08:50 PM

Totally agree with the OP. BB manipulation is what has screwed the show this year.

Devoxu 18-08-2009 09:49 PM

The messing about with the nominations is a joke no doubt, needs sorted out.

kathypink 18-08-2009 10:00 PM

If there is another series, they need to ensure that the housemates adhere to the rules, making it clear that if they don't, they will be ejected (and possibly replaced with a new hm?). I don't know if apart from the winner, the other hm's get any money. If they do, and break the rules, they won't get paid.

BBmassive 18-08-2009 10:04 PM

Effed up big style ! No live feed, allowing the couple of PATHETIC hm8s to do exactly what they want to, letting them discuss noms ...bb have lost the bolox it once had ,sad ,but true
