Marcus.......All tongue in Cheek

Surely viewers can see that he is saying all these things about himself tongue in cheek?

He is having a laugh and trying to wind BB up...........I have heard some viewers actually got took in by it...LOL

superfoxy 23-08-2009 07:50 AM

I agree, Marcus has a wry sense of humour and everything he says is totally tongue in cheek. He is hilarious at times. He is definitely the most observant of the housemates and he sees what is really going on with people quicker and more clearly than anybody else. He wqas fantastic with Bea and knew her so so well, and told her, hahahaha, I used to hate him but now I can say I think he is great, his Mum is very cool too.

No.
He is not.
The people who believe that are not able to see past that.

People who are more perceptive and mature can see that he has a lot of problems inside and he is not dealing with them well and hurts other people instead.

You just cannot see it.
You don't 'get it'.

Daffodil 23-08-2009 08:16 AM

Marcus has made me laugh out loud on several occasions. I think he is basically an ok sort of chap.

flyny 23-08-2009 08:24 AM

Well as a mature and perceptive person myself, its quite obvious even for a simpleton to see that marcus is enjoying himself by winding BB and the the other HMs' up...and if " YOU " cant see that , you obviously have your head too far up your ass.

You really needed to get a new account just to do that?

Marcus plays just enough 'tongue-in-cheek' and often afterwards as an 'out' in case he gets called out,
and/or,
He wants to be able to say 'Oh I was just joking',
and,
most of the time he is just blatantly being a very angry little prlck and its not a 'wind up' at all. HE is the one wound up and he is angry/hissy fit about it.

Sorry Marcus believed his own Toycollecting, indestructable, perving, revolting, raging, I am entertainment nonsense until Tom gave him a talking to. Whereby it occurred to his 12 year old intelligence that he might be perceived as a bit of nob. Winning instinct forever at the forefront for some wannabees he sacrificed his self glorification for self mockery (just about) thinking it might win him some pity .... it has.
He then starting playing to audience...... laughing with us at his grandiose puffed up egotistical bunkum.
He was always deadly serious to begin with.

King Gizzard 23-08-2009 02:54 PM

I agree OP, people take him way to seriously. Hes having a laugh.

Patricia4 23-08-2009 03:38 PM

He does swear alot but I like the guy he's funny.

Agreed. except for the "used to hate him" bit

dwarling 23-08-2009 03:43 PM

He's the Daddy..:spin:

Kate! 23-08-2009 04:00 PM

hmmm, jury still out on this one.

Tom 23-08-2009 04:02 PM

If he's taking the p*ss, then answer me this question. In the first few weeks, why did Marcus say, quite seriously, that he was "only in there for a piece of meat just like Karly and Sophie"?

Remember this was before Marcus started acting up to the diary room camera

I would have though so also but maybe it comes from some folk not really geting good British oldschool humour.

Those who scream for instance "He called his mum a mingebag!" clearly never enjoyed watching Steptoe and Son.

And why do folk keep going on about Tom? Bea saw him off so early on in the show he hardly had any effect what soever. Cant have been that much of a man if he runs away just because she managed to get most of the attention out of the three new HMs (not including Dave).

He said that as a joke. He is taking the piss out of himself

Shasown 23-08-2009 04:17 PM

Go have a look at Marcus's original profile and video auditions on the CH4 website, before you post those hate filled posts that make you look so pathetic. (no names - no pack drill)

Taijitu 23-08-2009 05:25 PM

Ive just realised why some folk just dont seem to get it. For some reason or another they just cant grasp the idea of someone laughing at themselves and not taking themselves seriously.

bansheewails 23-08-2009 05:32 PM

Marcus is a wind up merchant and he is in there as a 'piece of meat', because BB never in their wildest dreams thought he could win it! But know his fans are about to prove BB wrong!

http://getmesmileys.com/smilies/character00239.gif FOR THE WIN!

This is an interesting thought. Those of you who like Marcus; do you like British humor and those that don't; do you prefer American sitcoms etc?

You should start a thread or poll on this. Be interesting to see but probably just be lost here.
