But I have to say, Im sorry but why would all these girls (some as young as 16) sign up for a show that they hadnt even ehard of, I understand if they signed up if they saw it on TV but they fell for an online ad, you should never trust those things!

Also, it said that the first worried person to call was 2 MONTHS after their daughter left, did it really take 2 months to find out something weird was going on?

I mean if your daughter goes for a reality show and the show doesnt air, the parent would have called within a day complaining "There is no TV show!" but this was 2 months after!

It doesn't actually say they were in there for 2 months - it says they were told they couldn't leave before 2 months was up without a fine. It doesn't say how long they were there at all.

On another article it said that the parent phoned 2 months after, a few days before the complete 2 months was up.

I note a number of people have criticised the women involved, but I do wonder how much culpability the producers of reality TV shows share.

Also let's throw in the TV channels. They want cheap television, which to be honest a reality TV show is.

Compare the cost of one hour of Big Brother with that of an episode of a very popular prime time TV show like CSI, The Mentalist, NCIS etc.

TV channels fell over themselves to produce these cheap, but popular TV shows, and people see contestants getting famous and sometimes getting rich. Reality TV shows capitalise on this and foster the atmosphere that you can achieve fame and wealth just by appearing on their show.

Anyone facing the dole or a menial soul destroying job, this is promoted as an easy escape route.

No wonder desperate young women fall for this. Also look at the age of some.

What we had here was a 21st Century version of the white slave trade.

I have not even begun to mention what we loosely call the legal part of the sex trade.

Give these women a break, they bought into a dream promoted by makers of Reality TV shows and were then deceived and entrapped by people from the darker side of the sex industry.

On another point, I am not certain this thread belongs in the Big Brother 10 section, maybe the Big Brother in General and international section
