Corrie loses 1,000 viewers every week - to death

Quote:

Coronation Street is reportedly losing one thousand viewers every week - because they are dying.

New figures have revealed that a third of the ITV soap's audience are over 65, meaning they are 165 times more likely to die than anyone else, reports The Sun.

Taking these statistics into account, it means that at least 50,000 Corrie fans are dying each year.

A TV insider told the paper: "Corrie is a massive hit among Britain's older generation, many of whom have watched it since it began nearly 50 years ago.

"Interestingly, the figures show half of its viewers are over 55 as well, so it just goes to show hold old the audience is."
WOW, lol.

Good - Corrie sucks... so I wont miss it if it went!

When you compare it to something like Hollyoaks which the Majority off viewers are teens i guess it would make a huge difference

[/rquote] I suppose, but it doesnt really say much about the programme, if 1,000 Hollyoaks viewers died a day it'd only take 100 days for the whole audience to be dead

Harry! 18-09-2009 05:21 PM

Doesn't most people who watch soaps die anyway (Humans die. Fact)

Tom 18-09-2009 06:08 PM

They ought to do a mass cull of coffin dodgers if that is the new life expectancy :joker:

Well, because there is this little concept called advertising. And demographics. It's quiet important in television.

but why find out how many people die while watching programmes, its like finding out how many people go for a **** while watching X Factor

Harry! 18-09-2009 09:17 PM

What will be next. Kids show ''In The Night Garden'' loses viewers due to increasesd abortions. Jeez.

And again, who said that is what the survey was?

It was just an age survey. And old people die. Nothing strange about age surveys. Advertising requires them. Thats why you dont see hotwheels and hello kitty advertised during the antiques roadshow.
