Can someone help me out to pick 3 good music videos?

I need to pick 3 music videos and analyse them for the beginning of my coursework of Media. But Im having trouble picking.

Can anyone help? What music videos do you find good, anything from old to recent (all except rock bands please).

Any grounbreaking videos out there, apart from MJ, as 1 of his video's will probably my first choice.

Try Madonna - American Life (Uncut version)

Sam! 23-09-2009 05:25 PM

Justice - D.A.N.C.E is a good video media wise!

You need videos that mean something I guess, that you can talk about at length [what camera shots /whatever used] so... erm.

I can't think :|

Pink Floyd - Another Brick In The Wall is quite artistic.

Take That-Said It All is good cos they're all deep and meaningful in it instead of posey(well that's what Jason said anyway)

Thanks for the suggestions, I have found 1 that im going to do:

Rob Dougan- Clubbed to Death
Alot happens in that video.

depends what your looking for I suppose. You could do Single Ladies, talk about the one-take aspect of it and how iconic its beomce. Or if I was to ***** my fave artist *cough*therestoftheisthread*cough* then Christina Aguilera's Candyman is pretty awesome and won a directing award!

if you want iconic then maybe the Like A Prayer video?

Novo 23-09-2009 05:34 PM

LOL @ everyone saying there favourite artist's video's

Scarlett. 23-09-2009 05:35 PM

I'd suggest 3 different types of videos, it'd work better for your coursework

Wildcat! 23-09-2009 05:35 PM

Some people have given me ideas and ive gon edown some of the routes people have told me, so with your help and my friends help, I got my final list of 3:

1. Rob Dougan- Clubbed To Death (as i said above)
2. Faithless- Insomnia
3. The Verve- Bittersweet Symphony

Do you think that would be okay? All 3 have something to talk about I guess.

My 4th would probably be The Prodigy- Omen or, Out of Space.

Hunter Valentine - Break This

The Verve is a total copy of Massive Attack's Unfinished Sympathy <_< but that's a good list.

ILoveTRW 23-09-2009 05:46 PM

Call On Me - Eric Prydz

would be a good one to use considering the video is the only thing that got it to No1

Alf 23-09-2009 05:47 PM

peter gabriel - sledge hammer

*mazedsalv** 23-09-2009 06:19 PM

Ive replaced Insomnia with Prodigy- Out Of Space, so my final list is:

Clubbed to Death
Bittersweet Symphony
Out of Space

I do know that The Verve did kind of copy the video from Massive Attacks one. Another good one would be Massive Sttack- Teardrop. Its creepy set inside a womb and Massive Attack-Karmacoma is one brilliant video to set my analysis on too.

Which ones did you pick? I did coursework similar to that before. I chose Gorrilaz - Feel Good Inc, JUSTICE - Stress and Micheal Jackson's Thriller.

3. The Verve- Bittersweet Symphony

Wanted to exclude Thriller because loads of people were doing it.

Ah good choices. There's a lot to talk about with The Verve as it's a one take video and prodigy's is just bizarre.

I love the CRAZY HANDS MAN.
