Sign Of The Times.

It's funny how this was only reported because she had good grades.

Because we care more about those people, who wants to know if some bum drank himself to death?

Having A* grades doesnt automatically make you better or happier than people who don't

Here here. It's sad when drink takes anyones life, whether they be poor or rich, bright or dull, and I have a real problem with papers highlighting someones position in society because it only adds to the problems we have with regard to class divides, with our ability to empathise being usually dictated by how we choose to catagorise a human being. Still a very very sad thing to happen.

Braden 14-10-2009 05:34 PM

That was my thought when I first saw that. Could be unrelated to the alcohol really.

ANd BTw the reason why it is reported in this case, is I guess to show that even a bright young person like that, can fall victim to alcohol in one go.

Shaun has this Wrong
from the link on Post1

"the inquest heard how Rhona was five times
over the drink-drive limit when her heart stopped.
A reading of a blood sample taken shortly
after she arrived at hospital showed that
she had 450mg of alcohol per 100ml
of blood in her system - the drink drive limit is 80mg."

BBUK4LYFE 14-10-2009 06:36 PM

Sad. Another wasted life.

Patrick 14-10-2009 07:01 PM

Oh yeah, I bet if I did that or someone else did who didnt have all those grades then no one would give two Fucks!

IDC Its her fault, why should we care!

Tom 14-10-2009 07:11 PM

5 times over the drink drive limit isn't that much, one pint is 2.5 units and the drink drive limit is 4 for men and 3 for women.
