I really like Hero-Nickleback...meant to be the spiderman song...but I dont think ive ever heard it actually during the film, only in the credits

Paramore - Decode from Twilght its not played in the film though only the credits<3

I don't know anything about who wrote it and realise that's it's terribly 80's, but always loved Cry Little Sister from the opening of the Lost Boys.

And Killing Moon at the beginning of Donnie Darko. Quality.

I'm not sure if Thomas Newman's "Any Other Name" was a pre-existing song before American Beauty, but either way that would be up there, along with DeVotchKa's "How It Ends" (from Little Miss Sunshine), Angela Lansbury's performance of "Beauty and the Beast" and pretty much everything in Pulp Fiction & Watchmen.
