So there's an emergency meeting happening right now...

...no doubt Simon will change a few things, he must not be happy. Do you think he could change the theme? Yvie and Brian said that everything they've done so far for rock week will most likely be scrapped tomorrow.

Arneldo 25-10-2009 09:31 PM

Ugh Simon's a prat in 2009.

Tom4784 25-10-2009 09:40 PM

I doubt they'll scrap it now, all royalty fee deals and such will have already been sorted out and the week's been built around Bon Jovi so I doubt they'd cancel it now after announcing it as Rock Week.

I'd be really disapointed if they did.

Vicky. 25-10-2009 09:41 PM

Why would they be wanting to scrap it?

Arneldo 25-10-2009 09:42 PM

No royalties would have been paid. I'm pretty sure they have changed it last minute before.

Saying that, I don't think they will change it. Probably Simon wanting a re-count or something wanky like that.

Dont really blame him.

It doesnt seem right to be honest.

Miss Frank and Danyl were two of the best performances last night.

Loads of my mates are actually writing to ofcom (:conf:) about the result today...pathetic really, but it shocked a lot of people.

30stone 25-10-2009 09:46 PM

Whats writing to ofcom do if the votes are checked and are legit then nothing anyone can do.

And maybe they will change the theme so its all male songs or somthing, as having jls for rock? Completely useless idea.

No idea at all...I asked a couple what the hell ofcom is going to do...and got no reply. I detest knowing people in the ofcom brigade.

teabag. 25-10-2009 09:50 PM

so just because danyl is in the bottom 2 there is now a big deal going on?
simon maybe its because people might not like him

setanta 25-10-2009 09:50 PM

He's throwing a wobbler over nothing really. Danyl isn't all that and he just has to accept it. What a baby. Hopefully he wants to up the voting age to over 18...that would be a great idea. Is it over 18's already and is there any way they could possible enforce it?

30stone 25-10-2009 09:50 PM

Yeah i dont know anyone that really cares that much lol.

The votes can be checked, they probably will be they will find out john and edward did actually get more votes than others and nothing will happen and it will just cost money lol.

Great idea. J&E and Lloyd would definitely go then without the tweeny vote :D

But I think things are best left as they are...and I dont get why he *may* want to change rock week :conf:

setanta 25-10-2009 09:54 PM

I think Simon wants a guy to win it this year because we've had two girls winning it over the last 2 years. He probably believes that Danyl has the best chances of sustaining some kind of career out of the fellas that are in the competition.

No Leon won the year before and he was a male.

Yes, three years ago and look what happened to him. He wants a new male performer.

But what are you correcting? lol. I said that there's been two female winners for the last two years running and he would prefer to get have a male performer this year.

Tom4784 25-10-2009 09:59 PM

Danyl would do well on a rock week so I doubt he'll change it because of him. Chances are this emergency meeting is just for publicity to build excitement for next week.

Tom 25-10-2009 10:01 PM

I bet Simon scraps the theme, I'm sure he done it another year when he threw his toys out the pram

Narrow themes should be scrapped

Rock is hardly narrow and, in any case, it would get very very dull and samey if we didn't have a different theme each week.

Tom4784 25-10-2009 10:04 PM

I won't watch next week if it's not Rock, it's the first time in ages X Factor have done something different.

Jack_ 25-10-2009 10:07 PM

As much as it'll challenge most of them next week with a Rock theme, I hope it's scrapped.

If they really want to challenge them they should do an 'Original Week'. They have to write their own songs with the help of someone and then perform it. Failing that, they should do that for the winner's single. Let's have them all have an individual song for the winner instead of a cover.

But I don't think anything is going to happen, it's just for publicity.

I like having a theme, but I do think rock is a bit restricted. I'd prefer themes to be like 21st century number ones, 80's week etc where they can all play to their strengths. I mean say (god forbid) Lloyd wins, hes hardly going to release a diva song, or Stacey won't release a rock song.

Vicky. 25-10-2009 10:09 PM

I LOVE the idea or 'original week'

Yep, but sure aren't they supposed to be challenged each week rather than be spoon fed a number that suits them time and again? I'd want to find an artist that can vary their style according to the song they have to perform. I couldn't handle Lucie singing ballads every week or Jamie shouting out Rock songs constantly. Sleepathon stuff.
