I thought they were looking for the "X-factor"?

that special something that you cannot identify that makes you a star (a la Robbie). Simon now is saying it is just a singing competition?:conf:

Michelle Mcmanus could sing very well and won but she did not have the X-factor and now she does bits and bobs on local radio..

well simon seems to be very hypocritical so don't listen to what he says :P
i mean singing competition? then why'd rachel go over lloyd?

More rachel fans blaming simon for her downfall... lol.

But yes it is the x factor they need and no michelle didnt have it and failed and swam back into the ocean.

They're not looking for the X Factor, they're looking for a good amount of votes to make them money. The winner comes second to it, unless they have the potential to go far.

It's an entertainment show, and a money making project, first of all. That is where is starts. Throw all alternating arguments or preconceptions out the window. From then on, anything can be changed, manipulated, or decided to suit the overall goal of entertainment. You follow everybody from the start, you back someone, you get emotionally involved in the journey, it's all classic television, nothing more.

To do well in x factor you have to be able to sing and be loved. that's the "x-factor" :P
