What's most interesting about Lucie's exit..

... is that many of her supporters who are up in arms over Simon's decision tonight had absolutely no problem with the decision he made last week, stating at the time that it should always go down to the public vote and that Rachel's fans should just "get over it". Double standards here?

...when you have an act against John and Edward and you choose it to go to deadlock there's no reason to NOT be mad at Simon. Lloyd at least has some potential, I admit I didn't mind Rachel going. But when you pit Lucie up against an act like John and Edward, there's no question that J&E should leave.

Well I never thought that, i thought it was a joke last week that Lloyd stayed over Rachel

Yes, but what I'm saying is that it was perfectly clear what were the best performances on the two nights and yet Simon refused to judge them on that basis because his primary motivation is to eliminate the competition and also gain the show more publicity.

Lucie's fans have displayed double standards here because they had absolutely no problem with it going to deadlock last week. They even suggested that it should always be decided in that manner. Total U-turn tonight from them.

Simon re iterated how it must be about singing THIS WEEK and how it wil be based on one performance.

Yet he sells out.

The public are a bunch of morons to!!!!

You weren't saying that last week though - that's my whole point.

Cut him some slack; Lucie was his favourite and she really was royally screwed over - I say this as somebody who was pissed off at Rachel going last week (although I wasn't a supporter of her).

I thought last week was ridiculous too... so don't paint me with that brush.

He told everyone his reason for sending it to a deadlock,or did you not listen, probably not.

There should have been no question as to whether or not to put it to deadlock in this situation. There was no need for it. It's John and Edward for christ's sake.

Yes, but what I'm saying is that a lot of the people who were saying get over it to me last week are going mental right now over Lucie's exit, which is a bit hypocritical if you ask me.

And in another thread I pointed out Simon's gameplan but people dismissed me as just not being able to accept Rachel's departure.

Of course I listened to him but it's all spiel... he's not interested in talent; just in winning.
