X Factor Week 5.... Week of the Shock Ellimination!
 

X Factor 2005- Maria Lawson.
Voted out by Louis, the first huge criticism the show recieved after Louis was accused of being part of an "Irish Mafia" to help the Irish acts to get through. One of the favourites to win at the time.

X Factor 2006- Ashley McKenzie
Adored by the producers, never had the chance to perform on the first half of the show, was always in the last half, adored by Simon. One of the favourites to win at the time.

X Factor 2008- Laura White
Shockingly landed in the bottom 2, after Daniel's sympathy went into overdrive, and was then elliminated after Ruths brilliant sing off performance. Favourite to win at the time.

X Factor 2009- Lucie Jones
Simon took the vote to deadlock after wanting the public to decide up against John and Edward... where Lucie was elliminated. Was the 2nd favourite to win at the time.

SOO whats up with Week 5?
I actually knew one of the most popular singers would go befor ethe Love Results last night as I realised the curse.

Traditrionally Week 6 is the week where the "sympathy act" wears off (Nicholas, Alisha, Daniel).

I wasn't shocked with Ashley or Lucie if I'm being honest. Ashley was over-rated by Mr.Cowell and This years X Factor is just a big fail.

Joe was 2nd favourite behind Olly

On some betting sites, Lucie and Joe were on the same odds and were both joint 2nd fave.

Week 6 : No Sympathy

So who this year gets the Sympathy vote?
They might be gone next week!

The public usually come to their senses in week 6 after the token shock elimination

Nikitta was the one eliminated on Week 5 of Series 3, not Ashley, Week 5 always see's a girl going

I wouldn't say Ashley's departure was a big shock but the others were big shocks

I agree, she didnt do well but Nikitta was my 2nd fav behind Leona and when she went I was shocked and very angry because Simon almost saved her but right before he announced he was eliminating her he said "I change my mind, the act i'm sending home is..." so we almost got rid of Ray! :(

Wasn't Ashley the guy who forgot his words? He deserved to be booted out.
