no they're simultaneous equations. quadriatics are like:

X[sqaured] + 11x + 28 = 0

[-b +/- sqt(b^2-4ac)]/2a

It's hard to write it out on this..I got a 97 in Algebra 2 Honors. :)

The +/- means plus or minus.
