Mariah Carey to perform on The X Factor

Quote:

Diva Mariah Carey has thrilled X Factor bosses by agreeing to do the show- and cancelling a Strictly Come Dancing spot.

The superstar singer- who mentored on the talent show last year- had agreed to perform on the rival BBC dancing hit.

But in a huge blow to the Beeb she switched allegiances at the last minute.

Mariah, 39, is set to perform a week tomorrow, when Susan Boyle is expected to showcase her single Wild Horses.

Mariah Connection UK: Mariah Carey will be performing live in front of a studio audience tomorrow, but the performance will air on 22 November, 2009.

Great, another 80s hasbeen to rival the laughable Jon Bon unJovial. Is this a retro show now?

cant they book someone who can inspire the participants and not one who has them thinking "My Mum likes her"

Jack_ 14-11-2009 02:04 PM

PMSL, up yours SCD. :joker:

I bet her fee for XF eclipsed SCD's.

Harry! 14-11-2009 02:05 PM

Boooo! When is someone I like going to be on the show?

WOMBAI 14-11-2009 02:07 PM

Great artist - can sing her little socks off - just not over-keen on her.

Marc 14-11-2009 02:20 PM

What's the point LOL

alc09 14-11-2009 02:20 PM

**** off Susan Boyle.

InOne 14-11-2009 02:26 PM

Mariah can't be doing much with her life these days if she has resorted to this.

MarkWaldorf 14-11-2009 02:30 PM

She's been all over Europe promoting her new album.

Or tell me when did she last have a number 1 single or album? Like since the 90's. And for example Madonna has had all of her studio albums this decade + Celebration reach the top.

Beastie 14-11-2009 04:20 PM

I like your SteamBoat Willie picture with Mickey Mouse on it Harry!

Aww SteamBoat Willie! reminds me of a playstation 1 game I used to have!

Beastie 14-11-2009 04:21 PM

Mariah should sing one of her classic songs, not shitty songs she does now!

I would love to see Madonna on x factor too! She has made half decent songs this decade!

It was last year with Touch My Body. and the album E=MC2 went #1 last year too. -files nailz-

XF is one of the biggest advertising slots you can get in the music industry right now. NO relevant musician would turn it down if they had the chance.

From the UK? Where the X Factor is set. NO. She hasnt had a single UK no.1 album since the 90's. That just proves how relevent she is to the UK.

Are you totally forgetting "We Belong Together" Harry????
It was the most played track of 2005 in the world bar none.
And it was at numer 1 in America for like 12 weeks or something.

Mariah is still great.
Deal with it lol.

The US chart is so poor nowadays, The US chart is not a fair representation of whats good or not. The UK chart is far diverse.

Beastie 14-11-2009 05:41 PM

In my opinion Mariah still has a good voice but makes **** songs now. Madonna has still got it though and still makes good songs, maybe not as good as the ones in the 80s but still good!

Mariah needs to go back to the classics, to the big ballads, than the R n B **** she does!

the winner of the X Factor is set to be a star worldwide not just the UK. Wel Belong Together was a huge hit in 2005 and Mariah has had more #1 than any other female artist ever. Not her fault she's isnt 50 years old and shaming herself in her videos.

MarkWaldorf 14-11-2009 05:47 PM

harry's blates just bitter cause celebration charted at #70 in the usa.

Are you using US stats again? Is the US chart any good? Take this year when the Black Eyed Peas dominated the US chart from April to October. Isnt that a tad worring about the diversity of the number 1's in the US this year.
