Play Modern Warfare 2 online on 5th/6th Dec to raise money for 'War Child' charity

Publisher Activision has teamed up with Microsoft and high street retailer GAME to raise money for the charity War Child via Call Of Duty: Modern Warfare 2.

The 'GAME For Good' campaign encourages gamers to play the war sim on Xbox Live over the weekend of December 5 and December 6. The more people that play the game online during that period, the more money the charity receives.

"The money raised from 'GAME For Good' will directly enable War Child to help thousands of children in the world's worst conflict-affected countries to rebuild their lives - reconstructing schools destroyed by war, reintegrating child soldiers with their families and getting children off the streets after war has forced them to leave home," said War Child director Ben Knowles.

"We have a long relationship with Activision, and this partnership and the huge reach of Modern Warfare 2 is a unique opportunity for us to engage a new audience with these vital issues. War Child believes that war should never be prosecuted on children: war should have an 18 certificate."

GAME has produced a limited edition set of War Child/GAME for Good/Modern Warfare 2 co-branded wristbands to raise further funds for the charity.

The 'GAME For Good' campaign is open to all 360 owners who run the game in multiplayer or special ops mode from Saturday, December 5 to Sunday, December 6. Further details are available on GAME's official website, Facebook and the campaign's Twitter feed.
