Another of Simon Cowell's talent show stars - Susan Boyle - appeared in the cartoon earlier this year.

The Scottish singing sensation was seen inspiring Homer to audition for American Idol.

[that's not to say it's always been - it's potentially the best comedy show, definitely animated comedy show, of all time]
