Smell O Vision
Wouldnt you just LOVE to have 'Smell O Vision'
You know it was out a real while back, In the cinema they would release a Smell through the movie seats, so that everyone could Smell what was happening on the movie. It was took off because people complained:
So it failed in the Cinema, until 2003 when it returned for movies like 'Rugrats' where they had the 'Scratch n Sniff' Cards, where a Image would appear on the bottom of the screen and we would scratch the card and smell it. That was great lol and no one complained about Scratch and Sniff. So why arent they still used? I think they would be great, more movies should use these! Anyway, Would you love it if your Television had 'Smell O Vision' ? Picture it now: Your watching TV and the smell of that scene starts coming through your Speakers and fills your living room. What would you love most about it? What would you hate most about it? What programmes would be useful to have it for? :joker: Imagine watching Loose Women and you could smell their Cups of Coffee lol Or watching Eastenders and smelling the Pints in the Queen Vic. Watching Im A Celebrity and smelling the Bush Tuckertrials that the Celebs always make out to be 'Disgusting' smells. It would be great for Big Brother, imagine watching it and its Dinner Time you could actually smell what their having. Or if a Housemate farted it would probley fill your living room :joker: Or even if you dont like that, I think it would be great if some shows sent out 'Scratch and Sniff' cards in the post! Would you use them? So quistion is: Television 'Smell O Vision' good or crap idea? What would you Hate or Love about it? What Programmes would you use it for and why? |

Nah, I'd prefer a holographic TV

I think it would be the most poinltess thing ever. I don't really care about what Brad Pitt or Megan Fox smell like tbh.

I think the point of why it was invented years ago was to bring viewers more into the scenes. It would be perfect for EE and Soaps to give viewers more of an idea of what the feeling is in the scene. And during IAC you would know if the Celebs are talking bollocks about it being that bad, or if the Bugs really are bad. |
Well it's virtually impossible.

You seem obsessed with creating a thread discussion for the ages.

But its not impossible to send out 'Scratch and Sniff' Cards. Sky do a Magazine/Leaflet every month, They could send the card in that and then tell you the Channel the movie or show is on. The show then shows a little Number on the bottom of the screen and you peel the number off and Smell it. That part isnt impossible. |
''Quick kids, get card 14, section C, Cook is smoking Marijuana under the bridge!''
''Wait, you missed it, never mind. Get card 15 part B, quick! Before he takes his finger out!'' ''Dammit kid, that's eleven card's you have missed this quarter! We need our visceral, immersible viewing, dammit! Can't imagine it catching on. |
There is no point in it.
OMG A BACON SANDWICH IN THE CAFÉ. *GETS CARD* |
This has to be the most insane idea in the history of TiBB. I love it.

I'd hate it, especially if it was ever perfected, what if you had a scene set in an unsavoury place?
'Oh thanks TV you made my house smell like ****.' Like Chewy I'd prefer holographic TV or perfected 3D. |
I'd love a Tv where you could go into the screen and be on the set whilst the program is playing. I would be amazing.
|
Stupid idea, Just like some of your threads.

this is one of the best ideas i have EVER heard in my whole life!!!:D:D lol

Yes that is being worked on. And 3-D TV's without having to use 3-D glasses is the best new Tech TV on the way. |
