Burglars mark your property with Chalk signs

http://i.dailymail.co.uk/i/pix/2009/...22_233x532.jpg

This was located in Surrey
but can also be used in other places.

"Burglars are scribbling chalk marks outside homes to let fellow criminals know which properties to target.
The symbols - dubbed 'the Da Pinchi Code' - may indicate that a home is wealthy, has already been burgled or may have nothing worth stealing.
Police have revealed the signs are being drawn outside sprawling homes in advance of them being targeted by criminal gangs. "

Well its good it is in the News
and if you see a Chalk Mark
rub it off.

Harry! 05-12-2009 02:54 PM

I am anti-burglary but this is a good idea for criminals to use. But looting a house is a crime and shouldnt take place at all.

Enid 05-12-2009 02:55 PM

I agree, but if you saw some "graffiti" on your house or nearby wouldn't you just remove it anyway before other thieves see it? I don't think it's much of a threat unless it's starting to catch on.

Stu 05-12-2009 02:58 PM

This is a bit of a puzzling one, really. I didn't realize there was some Elder Scrolls style honor among thieves in the 21st century. Why would they be so intent on helping other scumbags when they have already raided the house?

arista 05-12-2009 02:58 PM

Yes this is Good they they have contacted a Ex -Theif
who is now a Security Adviser.

Grassed the Bastards up.

WOMBAI 05-12-2009 02:58 PM

Interesting to know! Not likely to be very effective though as once word gets out - as it has - people will pre-empt any such attack!

On a News report
it is used a Code among them all.

They pay scouts to pre-mark a Road.

For members of the same gang. I suppose they don't take anything first, they monitor the house and go back to raid when it's safe.

The aristabot 3000 is revolutionary technology and definitely worth stealing

Crimson Dynamo 05-12-2009 04:56 PM

The Already been burgled one, is it me or is it a touch complicated?

I think this is bullshit

Can you imagine doing the lock sign on "too risky" with chalk on a bumpy wall?

Look at the first one, way to complicated to execute.

Patrick 05-12-2009 05:09 PM

:joker:

Just the thought of watching TV and randomly seeing some guy in a mask walking around in your Garden with Chalk drawing on your wall :joker:

No it was part of ITV Local News
a Ex -Burglar now doing Security Advising
helped the Police and Local Council,
he let the secret out.

Some looks complex
but most cases a fast ''X" on a wall
is all many need.

Wildcat! 06-12-2009 01:08 PM

"We is bad People, and, we's about to rob your ass, or fuk with you somehow!!" Thats what it means. (Street lingo, for effect btw.) And they will all, eventually, end up in jail.
