People Actually Believe That This Will Be The Final Big Brother??!

Puh-leeze. The show will be back in 2012 on a new network. Mark my words.

Dr.Gonzo 08-12-2009 08:30 AM

You sound like a super villain when you say 'mark my words'. Did you shake your fist while posting?

We'll meet again, letmein :shakyfist:

So far, BBC, ITV, Five and a few other channels have openly stated they don't want Big Brother on their network.
And officially, C4 axed Big Brother because it doesn't match their editorial line at the moment, but we all know it's due to the low ratings.

I don't think it will be back anywhere.

I hate when super villains pop up once every now and then to start pointless topics that say ''You know what? Your all wrong and I'm going to be right. Me. ME!''.

Dr.Gonzo 08-12-2009 12:29 PM

Starting tonight, people will watch. I'm a man of my wuurd.

Mark. My. Words. :joker:

It won't be the last Big Brother ever. It's too iconic a show for it not to be resurrected.

The question is when, not if.

Ramsay 10-12-2009 04:40 PM

its not gonna come back
even if it does it wont be the same

I lovee BB and CBB!!
they are the best programmes on tv!!!!!:)
Dont let this go, channel 4, or 5 !:D:D

I can't believe people think that Big Brother will never return. The format is too simple but incredibly effective for it not to return in the future.

But as Matt said, the question is when, not if.

IMO they will do a Gladiators Ressurection with it, not as much a gap as Gladiatores (i think it was 9 years before they made the new one)... i reckon around 2015 (5 years later) another network will pick it up.

Chels 10-12-2009 05:13 PM

Um yeah, people do believe it's the last BB because, er well it is.

Tom4784 10-12-2009 05:22 PM

Yes it's bound to flourish on C5....Or Sky.... It could come back but it'd be axed within a year. It might come back in a few years but it's quite naive to think it'll come back. If it does the only viable networks that would take it on are C5, Sky, possibly BBC3 or ITV2. It'd be done on a shoestring budget and it wouldn't be the same, BBC1 or 2 and ITV1 won't take it on since they won't dedicate so much of their schedules to it.

Chances are it's over and about time too it was overstaying it's welcome with BB10, one of the worst series ever. It COULD get picked up again in a few years but it won't last then either the magic has gone.

thediaryroomchair 10-12-2009 05:37 PM

We will see BB again. I do not know which channel though but it is too strong a format to just fade into obscurity.

Scarlett. 10-12-2009 05:52 PM

'cause a network will buy a failing show in the middle of a recession...wont they?

It will be back one day though

but it's ultimately not financially viable, plenty of stronger shows have been cancelled for low ratings BB isn't any different just because you like it. Chewy said it best, it's failing and no one will splash the cash for it in a reccesion.
