ITV has announced the commissioning of a celebrity-based reality TV show for 2010 called 71 Degrees North.

The show will be filmed on location in Norway and feature celebrities competing in challenges to test their mental and physical strength.

Stars will swim in frozen fjords, climb glaciers, parachute into mountains, white water raft, sea dive and kayak, with one sent home from the ITV1 show every week as the rest continue their quest to the North Cape.

ITV controller of entertainment Layla Smith said: "To compete in one of the most alien environments in the world will test the celebrities in ways we've never seen before.

"It will be fascinating to see how they cope in this exhilarating and beautiful landscape."

Karoline Spodsberg of Nordisk Film TV added to The Mirror: "We've seen a lot of manipulative reality shows, but this will be tough and truly challenging."

Oh dear. This sounds like I'm A Celebrity in snow.

I'll probably end up watching though, to see if it's any good.

Braden 11-12-2009 05:53 PM

i'll watch it depending on what sort of media coverage and celebrities the show gets.

Off topic but the Janitor on Scrubs is probably the best sitcom character ever. :D

Scarlett. 11-09-2010 08:08 PM

I'd forgotten about it xD the name isn't very inspiring xD looks good though

GypsyGoth 11-09-2010 08:25 PM

Lauren is the coolest there.

LaLaLand 11-09-2010 08:27 PM

Lauren is a God.

I could never do this though, they're all very brave. I can't begin to imagine how cold -27 degrees is and just in a tent. Christ!

GypsyGoth 11-09-2010 08:35 PM

This sounds dangerous.

GypsyGoth 11-09-2010 08:57 PM

Noooo!

Callum 11-09-2010 09:02 PM

Really liked it. Wasn't nothing special but it fills the BB void nicely. I really want to go to Norway!

Jordan. 11-09-2010 10:27 PM

Quite enjoyed this. Wish Lauren had stayed though.

Snow is so knackering. Just walking in it tires you out. So felt for them

Scarlett. 11-09-2010 11:53 PM

I'm glad ITV1 are finally changing up their output a bit

Kerry 11-09-2010 11:56 PM

Remember it's on on Tuesdays from now on folks

Scarlett. 12-09-2010 12:06 AM
