Being in the bottom doesn't mean you can't win ...
 

I remember Lucy Benjamin was in the bottom 2 in the celeb series and won it

Michelle was in the bottom 3 in Pop Idol and won it

I'm sure Alesha was in the bottom 2 on SCD and look where she is now ...

and i think even X Factors very own Cheryl Cole was in the bottom 2 and managed to top the voting

yeah i guess you are right tom, but it IS looking like Joe will be crowned the winner. :(

To be fair, Strictly is a complteely different show (they take into account the judges scores), but I agree with you mostly (except Michelle probably WAS the bottom three)

in this case I think it's given Olly an advantage as his fans are scared.

You're right, but in terms of the main X-Factor show, a bottom two act has never won. Steve, Shayne, Leona, Leon and Alexandra all escaped the showdown and went on to win.

None of those are the X Factor though. I think we're quick to rule out somebody who's been in the bottom two, but considering Olly's against Joe, I just can't see it happening.
