Where is Diana Vickers?

I know she wasnt everyone's favorite. I criticized her all the time last year, but I really thought, she would be the break out artist of that bunch. NOt in terms of the show, she wasnt always the best performer, but i thought she generated the most amount of interest, and has so many fans.
I thought she could be a really good recording artist, but time is running out. She had to have something out by this year.

Is there some type of contract thats preventing her from releasing an album? I dont get it. Just wondering.

Tom 13-12-2009 12:12 PM

Shes currently the lead role in 'Little Voice' in the West End and has an album out in March

Stacey. 13-12-2009 12:15 PM

to be fair, she hasnt got a very good voice.:D lmao
she covered herself up with screaming the highh notes in her song...
even though,, i was just listening to her on YouTube, comparing her to Danyl, singing 'man in the mirror'
Danyl just .... RULED it, man/!!!! :D

Wildcat! 13-12-2009 12:17 PM

OK! Thanks. Didnt know about her west end stuff. Good for her.

Courtney, she actually do have a really nice voice. She just wasnt cut out to do the week in week out Xfactor stuff imo. And her studio recording voice, is really beautiful, if you listened to any of them. :)
I think if given a chance, and the right management, producers, she is a Gem!

Tom4784 13-12-2009 12:19 PM

Well she's doing that play and she's got an album coming out early next year. She's doing quite well for herself.

Ugh Danyl's was a karaoke version, it was just overblown and boring. Diana's was a lot more subtle and better.

When Diana had big screechy songs she was awful, but when she had quieter ones she was quite good. I think Cheryl ruined her and in the end she turned into a parody of herself

I mean this was nothing like her until the end

Wildcat! 13-12-2009 12:25 PM

I thought she also did an amazing ob with Man in the Mirror. I know I am a biased MJ fan, but I usually hate all the overs of his songs. But I really liked hers, because it was very different. Only the singing tough, disregarding her movements. :)

yer,, 'man in the mirror' was HER best.
lol, but SERIOUSLY,, if you compare this with danyls version....:laugh2:
danyl just outrules EVERYONE! :D-with his singing

xDramatick 13-12-2009 12:34 PM

As already mentioned, she's the lead in 'The Rise And Fall Of Little Voice'.
I went to see it for my birthday and she was incredible, she belted out classics by Judy Garland, Shirley Bassey, Marilyn Monroe and Lulu and always sounded fantastic. If she'd belted like that on the show, she'd have been recognized more for her singing talent.

Also, her first single, 'Once' is released in April, co-written by Cathy Dennis. The album should follow after that, and she's been working with Patrick Wolf, Guy Sigsworth, Nerina Pallot, Lightspeed Champion, Ellie Goulding and someone who's worked with Bjork and Madonna. Another track title floating around is 'Survive'.
A song of her's leaked earlier this year called 'Jumping Into Rivers' which you can find on youtube, and was then given out on her official site for free download if you want a preview of what the album may be like.

Ugh, I'm too obsessed.

Princess 13-12-2009 12:35 PM

Mark Owen wrote her a song for that musical, woop! Can't wait for the album!

Every performance Danyl did was the same.

quiet singing > Get's louder > screams out last note > end.

Patrick 13-12-2009 12:38 PM

She was wicked.

I heard shes making an album but that was a few months ago

Sunlight<3
It's amazing, she needs to bonus track it for her album.

Jumping Into Rivers:

Oh, and for the sake of it.
Diana Vickers > Danyl Johnson.

Wildcat! 13-12-2009 12:42 PM

Can you guys posts links to any of her songs or something?
Edit: thanks Darenn. Like I said, her recording voice is really cool.

Stacey. 13-12-2009 12:44 PM

Danyl is way better than Diana. :)

Billy 13-12-2009 12:49 PM

She's going to be huge next year!
Like everyone said she's in LV, and she's performing to amazing reviews (I dont think she's had a bad one yet), and she's working on her album which is due out in March/April.

So did Diana.... You only latched onto Danyl because Jedward left, you wouldn't have liked him otherwise.

Quite simply no, Danyl lacks subtlety. He can only do big booming performances well which doesn't bode well from a recording prospect. He had to resort to the same big note at the end every week to get through as the other two minutes of his performances were dull as dishwater.

Deirdre 13-12-2009 12:50 PM

Diana should have won. She was in a different league to the others last year.

No she wasn't. Alexandra was boring, Diana was magic. Had it not been for her laryngitis she would have walked the series.

The girl can stay, but the hand's got to leave.

I wasn't a big fan of Diana but on that particular night she really did get it right. Still though, her voice was pure affectation and it became jarring to me after awhile.
