Olly wouldn't have made it this far if it wasn't for his dancing
 

I was thinking about this today, If we look at Olly he's got a decent singing voice but would he have got this far without the dancing and the gimmicks? I'm not sure he would have. I did used to like him at the start but the last few weeks he's just been doing the same thing and he can't do ballads for crap (that 'Angels' in particular was horrific).

When he doesn't dance he just becomes so generic it's unbelievable, Simon's led him down the wrong path really. They should have tried to build up his stage presence and voice instead of going down the easy route and have him perform like a dancing bear for 10 weeks.

Olly fans are gonna maul me but think about it. could he have got this far without the dancing really?

He's generic and bland to the max.
His voice isn't good, and his dancing is worse.

I agree. It's his charm and the dancing that's kept him in. Nobody, and I mean nobody, votes for him on his vocal ability.

i vote for him because i think he's a good singer, i also think they should of spent more time on his voice though instead of his moves.

I still like him and his voice aint that bad, but he was a lot better back at the start of the live shows.

He's seemed to get worse as the shows have gone on, only improving last night.

he may not have the most amazing voice but he is a great preformer and he can sing

he was amazing from week 2 to week 5
then he sort of lost his way, and then did well on one of his two songs from before, last night he was amazing again :)

Your right Dezzy, his dancing did get him through (even how cheesy it is). No way is Olly better vocally than Danyl and Jamie, but I suspect Olly will be classed as the hottest out them 3, so grabbed those votes (I know a lot of girls who were voting for Olly for this reason, lmao, same with Lloyd too).

Anyway, goodluck to him and Joe tonight though!

Joe's got a better voice and stage presence plus he's got a great recording voice and can hold a performance without gimmicks. The problem with Olly how he is now is that he's not a recording artist, his voice isn't distinctive or strong enough to hold the audience without the visual stuff. If they'd focus on his singing he'd have been more of a viable contender.

My FB status today was 'Joe to win' and one of my friends went 'Is that the one with the bulge? He's got my vote!' So yeah argeed :P I do like Olly,it's just Joe has to win!!

I don't expect a great singer to be able to dance - one does not necessitate the other! Joe's singing ability is good enough to stand alone. He does not need the frills! Olly on the other hand - does!

i think Olly has one of the most distinctive voices, it's not as strong as joes but i prefer it. He has that sound to his voice like when he sings superstition. So i think he would do better as a recording artist to be honest. Plus great in concert. He has it all.

I don't think he always needs the dancing. His vocal on Superstition (mroeso his audition) and Come Together are great and the dancing just cheapens him.

Thats true actually listening to superstition and come together they show its not just about the dancing and he can sing really really good
