With an audience of around 15 million every week are you really that surprised?

I'm not suprised, just think it's **** that is all.

Better than the dancing shite on BBC thats for sure, what would ITV really put in place of X-Factor that could draw in the same audiences?

I had the misfortune of catching the first 10 minutes of it on Saturday, what an utter joke of a program it really is.

Who knows, but it's pretty much the same every year, some shiny winner who usually fails. Can't believe the British public eat this stuff up.

Jack_ 15-12-2009 04:20 PM

alc09 you're talking complete sense. It's arguably one of the worst TV shows I've ever seen.

The 'banter' from Bruce, the host, is cringeworthy.

He should just retire.

Niamh. 15-12-2009 04:22 PM

yeah, I don't think Ive ever watched a full episode of the dancing one, X-Factor is very entertaining though Joe even if it is cheesy!

Of course it is, but people watch it, and there is no reason why it would go any where in the near future.

I like the show of course, but have never voted for anyone on it.

InOne 15-12-2009 04:22 PM

I'm not by any means defending strictly or anything. But it just seems all TV can do is create reality shows these days.

Bad times ahead for TV then, and the music industry.

Couldn't resist a dig eh, Twilight?

Whats with the silly 'OMG' and 'ikr' in almost every post, it isn't cool, it is extremely sad.

Jords 15-12-2009 04:24 PM

My mum likes Strictly, Ive seen bits of it a few times when shes had it on, it is crap, but I guess it is for the mums and old people out there.

Tell me about it. I think the way he acts with Tess, who is not only married, but so many years younger than him, is revolting. :bored:

They're popular, thats why.

Of course BB is excused from what I just said, but back in the day it pulled in a decent audience.

It's cringeworthy to watch.

Tess Daly is the one positive regarding the show....not bad looking at all.

My parents both like it too. It's just piss poor all round. Oh, and it copies X Factor because it's more popular. Pathetic.

Tom 15-12-2009 04:26 PM

After the next series of Britain's Got Talent, I think X Factor will feel over exposed by the next time it comes around the ratings will be a fair bit down.

Think about what happened to Big Brother once it reached saturation point in 2006.

For the short term, ITV can go and burn both shows out as much as they like and get short term money. But if they want the formats to last in the long term then I think they should start to alternate each show like what they did with Popstars and Pop Idol so this time next year X Factor wouldn't be on but Britain's Got Talent will have just finished.

Well I don't mind BB cos of the format and that. Yes you may get wannabes but not aload of dribble. The sob stories must annoy you yeah? It's funny at first, but then just gets too up itself.
