Bus advert telling people to 'Consider Christ'

I was brought up by a Catholic Family, we dont really go to church anymore.
Recently I started thinking in Religon Class about God, and how all this stuff he was ment to of done.. just sounds like bullshit.

He was just like anyone else, You wouldnt walk into town and see someone standing down a 'Miricale'
I probley wouldnt belive at all in Jesus, only alot of members of my family have spoken to Ghosts.
My Grandmother goes this alot, so I belive in the after life.
I just dont know if all this God stuff is completely real.

So I dont really know if im an Athiest or Not seeing as I still belive in the after life..

So Anyways, I got on the bus and saw this stupid Poster basically telling people to Belive in God.

'In a world with no hope.. Consider Christ'
WTF, I think people can make their own mind up, never mind a stupid poster to do it.

It was basically like the church where advertising to get people to become Christian.
I thought it was quite stupid,
Why are posters like these allowed to be put up around Buses where people of all religons get on and off.

Obviously its allowed as this advertising thing has been out since summer, but I find it quite annoying how people have to sit there and stare at a poster saying:

'In a world without Hope..consider Christ'

It also makes out like the world is really bad, when tbh its not that bad.

Also one quick quistion:

Would I be considered an Athiest or Catholic or what?
Like I said, I was brought up by a Catholic family but just recently i've started to doubt that this Jesus bloke was even real.
But then im confussed because I know for a fact Spirits are real and when we die we still live on...

So would I be a catholic or an athiest then?

I suppose it's down to you, yourself and what you personally believe in. You do not have to believe everything in the bible from start to finish. It's your own personal beliefs and faiths that matter. I am not very religious personally but I do have my beliefs. I believe in the afterlife also. Many people may rubbish that as they have different views. Some things intrigue me. The prophecies of Nostradamus do for instance. But I do not necessarily believe them. Anybody could have written The Bible as a work of fiction. Who knows? It may all be true.Who am I to say? But I can have my beliefs. And if you do believe in something I don't think that makes you an atheist. I hope that makes sense.

Yeah, that makes sense :)
Thanks.

Patrick, God does not exist, and the Catholic church is the biggest load of shite ever.

Go ahead and and give me your facts as to why God does not exist then. I do hope this will be a friendly debate. Seeing as we are mates and all now.

So what are you arguing about?

I was not aware I was? I merely stated that a statement such as "God does not exist", for example, is your opinion and not a fact. That's not arguing. Lol

The term for what you are is Agnostic Patrick, I'm a bit like you there, I was brought up a Catholic too but to be blunt think that it's a load of BS as well, here's the dictionary definition :

ag·nosti·cal·ly adv.
Word History: An agnostic does not deny the existence of God and heaven but holds that one cannot know for certain whether or not they exist. The term agnostic was fittingly coined by the 19th-century British scientist Thomas H. Huxley, who believed that only material phenomena were objects of exact knowledge. He made up the word from the prefix a-, meaning "without, not," as in amoral, and the noun Gnostic. Gnostic is related to the Greek word gnsis, "knowledge," which was used by early Christian writers to mean "higher, esoteric knowledge of spiritual things"; hence, Gnostic referred to those with such knowledge. In coining the term agnostic, Huxley was considering as "Gnostics" a group of his fellow intellectuals"ists," as he called themwho had eagerly embraced various doctrines or theories that explained the world to their satisfaction. Because he was a "man without a rag of a label to cover himself with," Huxley coined the term agnostic for himself, its first published use being in 1870.

Jesus existed, there is documented evidence from various sources that pretty much prove that. Whether he is the son of god and the existence/nature of god is of course debateable. The most logical position is agnostic...you cant prove there is a god, you cant prove there isnt.... and It is good to have morals wherever you get them from Here endeth the lesson:D

AD lady: "yes, can I help"

Bob: "yes i would like to book 5 ads on the number 53"

AD lady: "that will be £300"

Bob: "er, look, its Jesus Christ here can I get a big discount"

Ad lady: "Bob is that you again, I told you about calling me like this?"

Bob: "Damn your eyes, you will go to hell"

AD lady: "I am calling the police right now!"

etc

To be honest, people who go to church tend to be the people who're nicer in society than those who don't. I just see Christianity as a good set of moral values that people should live by but I don't believe in God etc.
