So you have tat like Cher and Shania Twain in one poll and then two legends like this squared off against each other in another? This ones really hard.

Marvin Gaye, but looking back I remember alot more Buddy Holly than I thought I did.

Marvin Gaye. Buddy Holly's Everyday was Prestelle's wedding dance song. That's not why I'm choosing Marvin Gaye, just saying, lol!

I know little of Buddy Holly :( but just finding that Everyday was a revelation for me, lmao, I love.

But Marvin for the What's Going On album. <3

Buddy Holly was an inspiration to so many... true legend of music. But yeah, I had to go for Marvin because I love him and What's Going On would be in my top 10 of all time.

that's because he made more memorable music, and he did all this before he died at the age of 22.

the result of this poll proves what don mclean said, when buddy was killed, it was the day music died.

dont get me wrong, i like 1 or 2 marvin songs, but to put him better than buddy is an absolute disgrace

Hey, I think it was a bit unfortunate pairing the two of them up at such an early stage of proceedings to be honest with you, especially when you see some of the other pairs that are on here, but I think Marvin Gaye has the edge over him in terms of vocal ability and legacy. His career spanned so many important stages of the development of rhythm and blues and don't forget about some of the albums he produced when he broke free from the shackles of Motown, which are just masterpieces and had a profound impact on so many young artists of the time, like Stevie Wonder, Michael Jackson etc. I just think he's a legend. So is Holly obviously but Gaye takes it for me.

In 2005
a Motown Remixed CD came out
with Lets Get It On Remixed 2005
with Original 1973 Vocals.

Bliss.
