Who would be in favour of ONE social thread. It could be stickied.. for general chat... basically merging BH/Zeta/Den/Lounge etc. into one thread..

I think it's a good idea but some people wouldn't be happy. I voted yes, perhaps for a trial run to see how it works out?

It would eradicate the rivalry.

Trials wont solve anything. The BH I'm sure have no problem acting a certain way for 48 hours to prove a point.

The thing is, if you get rid of the BH they will kick up a massive fuss. It's a really awkward position that basically has the rest of the forum hostage because of how big it has gotten. Leave our thread be, or we unleash hell on the forum., basically.

I don't think we need to merge threads or whatever. The only thing that needs to happen is for the insults in the Den/BH to stop, because they provoke arguments and then threads like these two have to be created and a massive fuss is kicked up.

So if people keep themselves to themselves and talk with the people they feel comfortable with in the thread they prefer/feel more welcomed in then all is ok, surely?

I don't get why you want to segregate the forum though Brad... (and not just you of course)..

And you know we'll never get along in one thread, we do not share the same interests and ways of talking. It will cause more harm than good and I'm not saying this because I'm in the BH, but because you and I know this forum very well.

Personally I think it could cause even more fuss than before, because some people just aren't going to get along in a new thread - therefore there might be some arguments in there and it would be locked more often than not.

The "friendship circles" have already formed in threads like the Den and the BH, so I don't see a point in "breaking them up" again in a new thread.

I stated mine in the BH Hating thread. :thumbs:

By the way, the new social neutral thread will last about 3 days. Too many arguments as Marc and Brad said.

And I'm against all the threads being merged, and I'm sure most BH members and people that post regularly in The Den would be aswell. The BH was made because all members have a lot of things in common and like to talk between each other and not have things that we aren't interested in posted all over the thread, so merging them would defeat the purpose as to why we made the thread.

I don't think a new amalgamated thread would break them up though. Would just help to get everybody along more.

TBH would everybody even fit in the one thread? The current chat threads go fast enough as it is.

I'm seeing a lot of resistance from people unwilling to integrate.

It's not black & white. You can't say "oh we won't get along". You haven't tried.

But we share the same interests and a lot of the time, the same views on many things. So, I feel they would be "interrupted" with endless arguments and bickering, which is very wearing and dull.

I know I can't express my views in the way I want to in the Den for example because I wouldn't really feel comfortable with it.

Don't you think some people feel that way in the BH.. and there are even people who feel that way in all the individual threads.. whereas one big thread would be less likely to intimidate people.

I really can't see one thread working, to be honest. I'm all for giivng it a try but I think it'll just turn out even worse.

A discussion won't go anywhere because as Stu has said, it'll be moving faster than the current chat threads do now, and as people will wish to talk about different things, you won't be able to keep up with replies and they'll be discussions and debates flying about the place.

No, I think others feel the same way as me (obviously I can't be certain of this) but it just wouldn't make me feel as relaxed and comfortable as when we can all have a laugh in the BH.

Because it will be too hard to handle from one thing to another and like Brad said, a lot of us being uncomfortable having fun the way we have in the BH. We understand each other, we agree on everything, we like the same things. We'll never het that chemistry again in the new thread with all the immature ghetto talk like ikr ily bitchez sfm k? <3 ur so hot lolz honey.

There'd be too much going on at one time.
