Designer Labels

Do you prefer designer labels or would you wear things no matter the price/label..?

I hate labels personally.

Jords 23-12-2009 04:37 PM

I like to have some labelled clothing, but really Id wear anything as long as it looks decent. Would never spend loads on one item of clothing though. Get the expensive labelled stuff in sales

This was inspired by a discussion I had in MSN last night actually. I can't afford to buy designer labels at the moment, but that wasn't always the case... There was a time I could afford them, but still didn't buy them. I think they're a total rip-off. I know a lot of people like them, but they're not for me.

I wear like £3 T-Shirts and stuff like that, not bothered at all.

You can be in my slob-gang Joe..

I get most of my clobber from Primark. I do have a pair of Vans trainers though. I do like the look of Roxy clobber, the surfer type clobber but it is expensive but might treat myself in the sales.

Dr.Gonzo 23-12-2009 04:43 PM

I hate it. I like clothes you don't see on every other person.

If you're not enough without a label, you'll never be enough with one.

Petroleum > Top Man

Better clothes Cheaper prices

InOne 23-12-2009 04:44 PM

Only thing I like is Guinness T-Shirts, and ones from Pubs and stuff, and some bands

Brad. 23-12-2009 04:50 PM

Yes Andy Petroleum is great. and i voted a bit of both.

lily. 23-12-2009 04:51 PM

Nice to see a bit of variety in this poll. I have to be honest, I expected a lot of members to be pro-designer, and not wear anything else.

Mrluvaluva 23-12-2009 04:59 PM

Am I in the minority?

Fom 23-12-2009 05:33 PM

I just buy anything I like, sometimes I get expensive stuff sometimes I get a £3 t-shirt... I have a big mix.

lily. 23-12-2009 05:34 PM

Yeah, B.. you are a clothes snob...:P

Captain.Remy 23-12-2009 05:36 PM

I'm a huge fan of Calvin Klein, underwear's, t-shirts, jeans, classy pants... Other than that I like Eleven, Lacoste and Guess. H&M is amazing too, for real.

The only brand i really like is fred perry just the nice simple tops witht the logo i have about 6 and i think cheaper shops are just as good as designer shops these days.

I have never heard of Petroleum?

No I am not. Lol. Although I am ashamed to say I once spent £280 on a pair of Kenneth Cole shoes. But in my defence I had a Selfridges gift voucher.

lily. 23-12-2009 05:43 PM

You are Barry. We've had this discussion over and over again. You are a total clothes snob. You spend a fortune on clothes.

I don't mean you look down on people who don't wear designer labels, but I mean you hate to wear non-designer.

Enid 23-12-2009 05:44 PM

Both. If I buy designer it's always Dr. Martens or Fred Perry.

FCUK OFF. :) I know what you mean.

Couldn't care less about labels to be honest with you and it sometimes makes me laugh seeing how obsessed some people get about them, particularly when I consider the sweathshops that a great deal of companies use to manufacture their goods.

So do you think Asda, for instance, don't push down their prices more than..say..Armami?

I'm not getting into the ethical dilemma of it all here, or trying to compare one company from the other - I'm just suggesting that it's very silly to get so absorbed in labels when you consider what's really involved in the manufacturing of their goods, that's all.
