Omg this Band are so gonna own 2010

THE STROKES

Amazing band.

All 3 of their albums were flawless.

I cant wait for their new album.

Yeah their pretty much gonna be everywhere

Shaun 24-12-2009 07:40 PM

I never noticed them around the time of their other releases - but with lots of representation in decade-long critical reviews and other projects, I reckon they'll be a lot bigger now.

Glad they're back together though, I wasn't aware they were releasing an album next year.

King Gizzard 24-12-2009 07:42 PM

Nothing will beat ''Is this it''

Damaris 24-12-2009 07:44 PM

Yeah,My family played Strokes for ages so i kinda grew up with them. They are amazing and this year they will be bigger than ever.Headlining festivals and ****.Its amazing theyre back together and the album will be hawt.

And Nate Room On Fire Was close.

And JuiceBox from first impressions of earth was one of the songs of the decade

King Gizzard 24-12-2009 07:47 PM

Found room on fire a bit boring personally except 2-3 songs

Heart in a cage was my best from FIOE didn't like juicebox much

Shaun 24-12-2009 07:48 PM

loved ITI and ROF but FIOE was a bit sub-par.

Damaris 24-12-2009 07:50 PM

Is This it is the album of the decade. With Patrick Wolf--Lycanthropy XD.

Anyway.....Room on fire is amazing i love it.

I agree with FIOE it was bad at times but never the less a good album

InOne 25-12-2009 12:07 AM

Completly irellavant comment.I thought you liked Patrick Wolf anyway..Sorry he isnt mainstream and is extremly credible and dosent follow any random trend to make money

The Strokes are already headlining Isle Of White..

Just wait and see dear.At least back up your point with a valid reason.

Instead of just giving me a cheap shot because you know Patrick Wolf is my favourite artist.

bai now xoxo

actually I made that 'cheap shot' because you have previously said he will be huge next year, which will obviously, not happen irregardless of whether he follows the mainstream - which by the way if you took a sec of your music snob facade would you would see if filled with plenty artists just as 'credible' as the aforementioned.

attempt at seeming dismissive = flop, btw.

Omg get your head out of your own arse and stop trying to beliddle me.

Yeah im a music snob but i dont really care because i like good music.I pretty much avoid the ****.I like quite alot of mainstream bands most of the time i dont even think their good.Yeah im pretty much a music snob.

Btw have you actually listened to The Strokes?
Or know anything about The Strokes?
Well dear i would like to educate you on the strokes. If The Strokes werent around then bands like The Libertines,Arctic Monkeys and Franz Ferdinand would have never been here.I heard Radio 1 today say something in the lines of 'Beatles of our generation' in terms of how influential they are.

Anyways...i just didnt think it was appropriate or relevant just plain obnoxius to come in hear and insult Patrick Wolf. This thread wasnt to do with anything i previously said. This thread is on The Strokes not Patrick Wolf.

Attempt at Replying to my post=flop btw.

Everything about them screams Indie, they are rather annoying

Shaun 26-12-2009 02:50 PM

They kinda started the whole indie-craze this decade, with the Libertines, really.

So yeah I guess that would be screaming indie :p

Yes I have had the misfortune of hearing far too much of the Strokes. They are really, just very generic and to be frank the thought of a world without the aforementioned Artic Monkeys and Libertines sounds pretty good to me. I find it quite funny you believe that had one indie band not come along, no others would have, pmsl, the indie scene had been bubbling for years it was only a matter time.

The reason I brought Patrick Wolf into this was to try and correct your delusional view that if you like them and think they're revolutionary, they will obviously become HUGE eventually.

way to rehash my insult btw :P

and finally; belittle*

I agree with that tbh:P

InOne 27-12-2009 05:04 PM

I think Arctic Monkeys and The Libertines were alot more influenced by Oasis.
