I want to learn Dutch and Norwegian

Princess 07-01-2010 03:29 PM

Did French and Irish at school, can barely remember 2 words of either of them. Also know the tinest bit of Portuguese. Languages are not my strong point!

Sophii3x 07-01-2010 03:31 PM

My first language is Welsh, second language is English.. so I'm fluent in both of them.
Then I can speak a lot of German and Japanese and a bit of French. Once I'm fluent in them I really want to start on Italian!

Captain.Remy 07-01-2010 04:12 PM

French (mother tongue)
Russian (mother tongue #2)
Italian (mother tongue #3)
English (started at the age of 6)

All fluently of course.

A bit of Spanish and German. I also did Latin at school.
I also plan to learn Portuguese this year.

So 4 fluently and 2 minor ones.

Twilight 07-01-2010 04:42 PM

No :(

Holy ****. I can't even comprehend what it must feel like to be able to actually think fluently in more than one language.

Some people say I am "gifted". I think it's not true because it's definitely easier to learn more languages when you already know some. I've been hearing 3 different languages at home since I was a young boy so it was rather easy to "learn" them. Then my parents decided to pay an English teacher when I got to primary school because they thought English will be important in my life and it is. It comes across as natural to learn languages to me, I don't find it hard.

About thinking in different languages, I sometimes get mixed up lol I make sentences with 3 different languages when I'm angry and everybody at home understands them.
