Ace! :D Yeah it is, he told me the other day and that Bittersweet Sympothy by the Verve is his favourite song too!

Beastie 11-01-2010 10:27 PM

The ending was..... :( but I will not spoil it for people who have not seen it. If you have NOT watched it.. WATCH IT.

Beastie 11-01-2010 10:31 PM

Why did Reece and Ryan split up in real life?

setanta 11-01-2010 10:33 PM

Not a bad film but Dangerous Liasons is in a different league to it.

Iceman 11-01-2010 10:34 PM

The Sloppy Kiss!!!!

Beastie 11-01-2010 10:35 PM

OMG Daniel from Ugly Betty is in it. I never noticed that :joker:

It's light years ahead of it although I do give Cruel Intentions credit for giving it a contempory feel without losing the tone of the narrative. It's still inferior though.

I did as it happens but I'm a total film geek really. They did a good job in transferring the story to modern day, surburban life but Dangerous Liasons is a far more interesting and weighty film, rather than the teenaged giddy silliness that carries this version along which, although having a polished, fun look, never reaches the same depths of emotion and lustiness.

Yeah I get you, quite a few American films have teenaged corny, giddy silliness. In fact them films are my guilty pleasure :joker: But I do prefer the ones that are more darker and sinister. I suppose it is the actors too. I bet if Cruel Intetions did not have Sarah Michelle Gellar, Ryan and Reece and that Sienna then it would not have been as good. I think there is more than one Cruel Intentions film but I don't know what the rest are like.

Yeah, I can definitely see Cruel Intentions being a guilty pleasure for many but I just love the sophistication, wit and sexual tension that's present in Dangerous Liasons. It's a really classy film.

So in other words.. Cruel Intentions is a BOG OFF version of Dangerous Liasons? Well I will watch it someday or get it on DVD!

Yeah, basically. Still fun though.

Captain.Remy 12-01-2010 04:14 AM

Oi ! My favourite. I know the film by heart, I don't need to watch it to tell you what the character is going to say haha
Thanks for the mention

anto42 12-01-2010 11:14 PM

At least its better than its 2 sequels

Dr.Gonzo 15-01-2010 06:48 AM

I saw a scene of this getting filmed when I was in New York. It was the end bit, next to Central Park. I never knew what it was until a couple of years later when I was showing an ex some old holiday photos and she nearly **** because it's her favourite film... or was her favourite film.

Moviefan 23-02-2014 01:57 PM

Kate! 23-02-2014 01:59 PM
