Swine Flu Injection

Hey the people who give the swine flu injection are coming to my school on monday and i dont no if i should get it?

is there really bad side effects that people say??

Smithy 16-01-2010 10:25 PM

my parents have had it and they were fine after it
unless you have any serious health conditions you should be fine

GypsyGoth 16-01-2010 10:26 PM

I wouldn't get it, it is only the flu.

Stacey. 16-01-2010 10:27 PM

you should be ok :)
um, my form tutor [and science teacher] said Swine Flu is the least harmful flu there is :)

Got a letter from the docs about it, didn't go. Just the Goverment trying to create mass panic.

I think you should get it Conor just to be safe :D

Firewire 16-01-2010 11:21 PM

If I got offered it, I'd decline it.

No need for it.

Princess 16-01-2010 11:24 PM

No point getting it at all Conor. Unless you have some sort of immune disease, you'll be fine if you get it. It's just bad flu.

'Conor 16-01-2010 11:26 PM

i think i might get it just to be safe

Safe against what? The flu? Injections hurt!

MrGaryy 17-01-2010 01:02 AM

I got it. Why not, wouldn't you like to be as immune against any disease as possible? I didn't hurt what do ever, all of my friend's got it and were completely fine. The only side effect is that your arm feels a bit weird for awhile afterwards but it wears off quickly!

You have to view it from others perspective though. Most would rather the sniffles than have a metal rod pierced into their skin.

I guess, I do have very little tolerance for those with needle phobias. But even if you're a little afraid, in reality, it is less than a pinch for 3 seconds, whilst you're distracted, in exhange for immunity from flu. Swine flu isn't the sniffles, even in the average case it's a bad cold, not just the sniffles.

Stu 17-01-2010 01:38 AM

I have extreme needle phobia. Even if I block my eyes when a syringe scene is on telly I have to cover my arms and start rubbing them, especially the parts that bend on the flip side of your elbows where I got a bloodtest after about five Xanax a few years ago.

In fact, even after typing that I can feel a cold sweat coming on. Screw your low tolerance!

Still though, it seems so useless even in principal. So you might catch a bad cold. Man up! You don't need government medicine!

MrGaryy 17-01-2010 01:43 AM

I see your point, I do have a low tolerance but in cases like yours where the person is genuinely petrified I don't have any problems. I just find that generally people who say they're afraid are just attention-seeking, but obviously there are exceptions and you can always tell when someone is genuine.

I like how you're terrified of a little needle going into you for a second but are telling me to man up to having a cold

Princess 17-01-2010 01:51 AM

I wouldn't mind a subcut,IM's are sore! I don't see the point of injections if I'm not gonna die not having it.

try having them going into your gums once a week for three weeks in a row all for a few fillings.

Apart from the fags and coffee, I have a diet that's built to be extremely kind to my teeth believe it or not just so I don't have to go through anything like that. That's commitment, baby.
