PS3 or X-Box 360

Which is better?, only one way to find out FIGHT!!!!!!!!!:D ;).

King Gizzard 17-01-2010 12:08 PM

360 all day long

end of.

Shaun 17-01-2010 12:11 PM

from what little I've experienced, 360. Like the look of both though...my 'newest' console is a PS2, lmao. Sister has a Wii, brother a 360.

Scarlett. 17-01-2010 12:12 PM

360, it may not have blue ray...but to be fair....I dont give two flying ****s about blu ray, I'd rather have a huge choice of games

Stu 17-01-2010 12:14 PM

Blu Ray means nothing to games anyway this generation. Developers almost never use the extra space because they also want their games on the 360. And if they do we get multiple discs anyway. So I have to change the disc three times during 500 hours of Final Fantasy XIII. Big deal.

bbfan1991 17-01-2010 12:19 PM

I voted PS3;).

Indeed, next gen is when Blu Ray will be important :]

King Gizzard 17-01-2010 12:29 PM

Well, the whole Blu Ray revolution might end before it began, the market seems to be leaning toward USB Sitcks now

Stu 17-01-2010 12:45 PM

Yep, and downloads and streams. Hard formats are dying fast.

Plus you have install MGS4 about 15 times, which defeats the entire purpose. Plus Sony now have to worry about DD making physical media irrelevant.

Blu-ray is great for movies though.

Ramsay 18-01-2010 02:11 PM

You do know BluRays play Normal DVD's
and boost their quality.

Tom4784 18-01-2010 03:08 PM

I'll have to say Xbox sicne I don't have a Ps3, but I want one eventually though. It has killer exclusives.

I don't think Blu ray will take over, It'll be like HD and standard channels on TV. They'll co-exist, the only reason DVD took over from VHS was because it was something completely new with the menus, the quality and the features and stuff. I don't think Blu Ray will take over as it's not much of a leap really. They'll both do about the same eventually I think.

Tom4784 18-01-2010 03:11 PM

When it comes to gaming I don't think the digital format will take over either, Look at the PSP Go, it died on it's arse. I think generally most DLC does well because it's reasonably cheap, fully priced games however never do as well.

Maia 18-01-2010 03:13 PM

PS3 is the best. X-Box 360 is a tad overrated imo.

andyman 18-01-2010 03:52 PM

Have both, both very good.. But for spec the PS3 wins.. Means fk all to lazy dev teams, but money plays a part..

It already has, and theres a big difference between normal HD channels and you cant even compare it with standard channels as theyre not even HD.

If you have the right equipment, nothing compares to watching a movie or anything for that matter on Blu-Ray.

It hasn't, I'm talking about how the DVD took over the VHS. Blu Ray's nowhere near that level yet. If you go into HMV how many Aisles of DVDs will there be to Blu Ray? How many people do you think on an average street has a Blu Ray player over a DVD one? It MIGHT take over in a few years but until then it's just the HD option and until HD becomes the norm Blu Ray won't be either.

I mis-understood your post, sorry. Yes I agree that it isnt at the level of DVD but I fully expect it to be in the near future. Blu-Ray player sales went up 72% last year, and with the prices falling people will continue to invest in them.

Yeah they'll grow more popular but I think they'll end up co-existing with DVDs as not everyone's gonna buy in to it as it's not really a next gen format. I'd go for one if they weren't so expensive really (£15+ for ONE Blu Ray?)

30stone 18-01-2010 11:44 PM

Have both..

Ps3 for me.

Online play isn't as good.

But Better quality graphics.
Less noise by far, i never realised how loud an xbox is and mine is about 4 week old elite..
Ps3 is 2 years old and is quiet as you like..

As for amount of games, the majority of games i have liked have been either Ps3 exclusive or on both.

Other than forza i cant think of an xbox game i want that isnt on ps3..

Prototype
Uncharted
Gran Turismo
Army of Two
Socom
Killzone
Metal Gear solid
MAG (Massive attack game)*ithink*
Heavy Rain
Some great games for ps3 only..

andyman 19-01-2010 12:01 AM

*Red ring of death!
*Stupid power brick!
*Loud as a fking jet engine!
*Old tech with Microsoft thowing money at dev teams!
*No Blu-ray which kicks the fk out of old and tired standard dvd.
----------

¤Huge list of games.
¤Good online support.
¤Cheap to buy new.
¤Easy to change the hard drive.
¤GTA IV DLC.

Tom4784 19-01-2010 12:42 AM

They've both got great exclusives really, on Xbox's side you have games like Mass Effect, Dead rising, Left 4 Dead, Forza and stacks of RPGs.

PS3 does have more well known exclusives although I'm very much looking foward to Heavy Rain.

30stone 19-01-2010 12:48 AM

Yeah.

I do like operation flashpoint for xbox not sure if its exclusive but i havent heard of it on xbox.

Worst thing about x box for me is the controller having batteries and having to buy a battery pack n that..
