If there was a Mr Right and a Mrs Right..

then how come most folks find a partner where we work or in the very limited social circle in which we move?

I think that each person has many thousands (maybe more) people in the UK that they could marry and live happily with.

what do you think?

Iceman 19-01-2010 12:42 PM

yeah I agree.....i dont believe their is any such thing as "the one" i think of it like theirs "the one-hundred".......

Beastie 19-01-2010 12:43 PM

Yeah maybe.. but if you are already happy with the one you are with you might as well stick with him/her and that happiness :) But yeah I reckon there are more potential partners lurking out there.

Yeah, I agree 100%

Some people have that look on life... I don't know, I currently feel like every relationship is OK... but the one that lasts is the person that is the one... Maybe I am just naive about relationships.

That's a good mindset to have though.....i know people who say oh i'd never marry this person or oh we'll never last......basically limiting the time they'll have together and looking forward to a new relationship...

Shared interests are key however. having a shared passion, that is not passion itself, is a real indicator to longevity

Exactly, I am in a relationship now and can't imagine being out of it... I don't get people that think like that.

I know, i told them that they arent giving it a fair chance but they dont seem to listen...I find it strange that they dont see/get what theyre doing and it really annoys me....

It all depends on timing as well though, like my husband for example, If I had met him when I was 17 would we have ended up married? I doubt it cos I wasn't ready to marry anybody at that age.

I think there is someone for everyone but I think it actually can be anyone. I don't think people are set for certain people or whatever, its just how well you get on or if theres an obvious attraction. I'm in a relationship and its about the third time with the same person now and been on and off for about 5 years or something, totalling in about 3 years together. The second break up with her (:joker:) was extremely messy yet we're back together and happier than ever? Must be something in that?
