Entertaining housemates or nice dullards?

Do you support people because they're 'nice', sit on the fence, don't mouth a bad word, fly under the radar etc? Or do you support people because they're funny, participate in house discussions, are argumentative, create good storylines and are also nice and likeable?

Always wanted to understand what goes through the mind of a supporter of a housemate like Rachel Rice, Susie or Hira. All nice, but boring, non-entities, nonetheless.

Entertainment. This is the last one, so we need someone entertaining to win.

Have you always supported the most entertaining housemates though?

An entertaining housemate won't win anyway. Come on, this is the British public we're on about. :joker:

Princess 21-01-2010 10:45 PM

There is such a thing as being nice and entertaining, people tend to forget that.

Claymores 21-01-2010 10:45 PM

I always view BBs from a negative perspective - want the arseholes evicted and don't really care who wins from what is left - this CBB is working so far.

It is about evictions for me...........last week is always boring anyway

This.

I like a bitch in there as they are very entertaining, but do I want them to win? NO! I would hate to see a smug look on some idiots face winning the whole thing, I nearly thought we'd get this with Rex.

I go for nice and entertaining housemates. :)

Marcus was likeable and nice at times, as is Stephen, and as was people like Glyn, Rex etc.

People tend to forget these qualities, and concentrate on the negative ones.

Stephanie 21-01-2010 10:48 PM

i normally support people who are funny and entertaining (who are also nice) and stir things up, but not in a really bitchy and nasty way.

I don't like people who argue though. I like people like Samanda and all. I do like Glyn,Stephen I hate. Although I really liked Nikki and Michelle and they both argued a bit. So yeah, don't like if they argue all the time.

I always want the HM who has made me laugh and has entertained me most to win. This year it's Stephen.
Last year it was Coolio or Terry. I usually scratch my head in puzzlement at who the public choose as the winner.
Ulrika? WHY?
And that dumb non - entity who won BB this year - I can't even remember her name.
It's SAD!

Do you not think arguments make better TV though?

If you had the option of either watching thirteen weeks of Rachel Rice's getting on with each other and drinking tea, or Nikki's, Makosi's, Marcus's having arguments, being funny, bitchy, whilst being nice and having down to earth chats at the same time, what would you choose?

zelda 21-01-2010 10:56 PM

i love the entertainers in general people dont always like them but without them bigbro wouldnt have lasted

zelda 21-01-2010 10:57 PM

and whoever voted for someone as boring as rachel should feel some shame

I don't like arguments. I hated Rachel but I didn't like Makosi or Marcus either, well mainly cos they didn't think they were nice people.

Exactly, and that's why they should win. Why reward dull people when entertaining people are doing all the work?

BB_Eye 21-01-2010 10:58 PM

I usually want the person who is a likeable, but also entertaining and not inoffensively nice, to win. These sorts of people would be Dan, Michelle and Nadia from BB5, Science from BB6, Aisleyne from BB7, Mikey from BB9, Tina from CBB6 and Freddie from BB10.

Personally I think the Celebrity editions of Big Brother are lacking in these sorts of people.

Hm, okay, fair enough. At least you've supported some entertaining housemates.

Im the same as you princess. :) Couldnt support a housemate if I thought they were a nasty person, however entertaining they are. However it doesnt mean I want them out straight away [unless they were terrible], just for the drama, but wouldnt like them to get to the final week, else they would feel smug.

MusicMan 21-01-2010 11:01 PM

Makosi was my absolute favourite of BB6
She is what BB is all about! haha :D
At the end of the day, I would vote out the people who are nastier or more malicious because they don't deserve a place there. I'd rather have a nicey-nicey winner who deserves it than a smug winner who did nothing but cause trouble and gets rewarded.
Entertainment during the series is great (obviously) but having a 'nice' winner does not ruin it for me at all, in fact it makes quite a satisfying conclusion :)
BB7 final 3 was the best though, I was supporting Pete, Glyn and Aisleyne! :D

Smithy 21-01-2010 11:02 PM

I like entertaining housemates as long as they arent arrogant

Mystic Mock 21-01-2010 11:02 PM

entertainers its the hole point of the show
