Jobs and Hourly Pays

Okay, as you know I was a Christmas temp for TK Maxx, but unfortunatley they let me go and ALL the others as they couldnt afford it.

So today I handed in as many CVs, and Ive actually been invited to an interview on Thursday at 6 30pm for New Look as i have had experience with a big store like TK Maxx.
I also handed it in WHSmith, Superdrug, Debenhams and Rymans.

Debenhams is the only one, along with New Look that need people... so Denenhams will phone me soon.

But out of WhSmith, Debenhams, New Look and Superdrug, which store do you reckon would pay more... anyone worked in any of these stores?

Stephanie 25-01-2010 05:25 PM

my mum used to work in superdrug and the pay was really ****.

Beastie 25-01-2010 05:26 PM

I heard you get paid 6 quid summart at new look and a 50% discount!

Debenhams, the rest are quite trashy shops

Unless the New Look you've submitted a CV for has a mens department, don't hope for a call from them ...

I am gunna apply for jobs in all different hotels soon. I hope they are looking for jobs lol.

Good luck btw! xx

The New Look does have a mens section yepp... its quite a small section but the shop itself is large and very nice, the one in my town is the best looking New Look out of all the ones Ive been into. its very nice in there. So Im glad i have a interview, because they are doing some recuritment day.

Yep, Debenhams will phone me soon hopefully.

Thats good then, I knew some did but I don't know any because they're not that common :joker:

Only ones I'd say to avoid really are the likes or Argos, supermarkets, JJB etc ... really low end shops, has an impact on who will take you on later if you want bigger and more respected shops

Usually they just need people at Christmas. They start handing out Christmas application forms August/September time!
