Registered a complaint about the booing with Channel 4

Still incensed over Makosi's treatment by the crowd, this morning I telephoned Channel 4 to register a complaint in the hope that the more complaints they receive, the more chance they'll take action to ensure it doesn't happen again. No housemate regardless of what they've done inside the house deserves to endure so much hatred (as been discussed in other threads on this board).

If you want to register a complaint you can call Channel 4 on this number 020 7306 8333

Or write to them at this address:
Channel 4 Television
124 Horseferry Road

Do you seriously believe the only way to stop someone booing is to cut out their voice box?

Don't worry he just doesn't like Makosi, but if it wa sone of his faves then there would be more than one option.

so tell me, what other ways are there to stop a person booing? i would love to see what you come up with!

Lance 13-08-2005 11:41 AM

Well for a start Davina could have at least said "guys, give Makosi some respect"

hass 13-08-2005 11:45 AM

oh yes and im sure every single person in that crowd would of said "ok davina i will shut up now" :joker: as if they would, get a grip!! theres nothing to stop ANYONE from booing!

Lance 13-08-2005 11:50 AM

Or so you think...

So if you were in a library and started talking loudly and was then asked by the librarian to be quiet, would you stop talking?

Princess 13-08-2005 11:51 AM

people wont shut up just cause davina says so but yet again i dont think they should have booed that much or start chanting off or liar

yes i would because its a library and libraries have a reputation for being quite. whereas the big brother set from the day it started when sada was evicted, people where booing and shouting! its a different enviroment to a library isnt it?

My point is when asked you would stop talking without having extreme action being used like removing your voice box (although judging by your comments to this subject that might actually be a good thing).

Pantomime booing housemates like Sada on their way to a studio is one thing, chanting slogans, booing constantly and screaming insults while someone is being interviewed is quite another. It reached a level which has been roundly condemed by BB fans even from those who don't even like Makosi.

hass 13-08-2005 12:10 PM

yes but in that situation when asked i dont think anyone would of stopped shouting!

Well if people had any respect they would but it really does give a bad name to the GBP...is it not enough that football crowds are disgracing the nation on regular occasions?

If last night's eviction was shown internationally I'm sure people woud be thinking the same as what I am.

Davina could have easily just said,c'mon Makosi let's go until they shut up or just refused to talk unless they shut up....would have sorted them out.

Of course they would if there was a presenter up there willing to take them on. Russell Brand would have had them eating from the palm of his hand! If he can deal with thousands of rowdy drunks pelting him with glasses at the Edinbough festival, he can deal with a these dopey airheads.

Davina McCall is clearly out of her depth as an interviewer/presenter and either unable or unwilling to control a hositle crowd, and what was even more disgraceful last night was that she was actually encouraging them.

Anyway this is getting nowhere and we're just going around in circles. We're not going to agree and I'm bored with arguing with you.

hass 13-08-2005 12:23 PM

whose arguing? this is conversation not argument! :conf:

GlitterEyes 13-08-2005 12:28 PM

I am for one GLAD they booed her off that stage, what goes around comes around and she deserved to know what the public felt about her before she got back into the real world. It was obvious she will get boo'ed for a while everywhere she goes and she deserves it she was lucky nobody threw anything!

Lance 13-08-2005 12:29 PM

How did she disrepect and mistreat the public? So what exactly went around ?

I was otherwise occupied, besides we have not yet had the tribunal of the sacked Cyber Devil's Advocate who broke the CDAG ban on involvement with Reality TV. Depending on that case will my return to the BB arena.

Anyhue, you need to go back further up the line

The crowds tend to be whipped up by selective editing to make someone appear in a way they are not, (last year's Michelle and Stuart romance comes to mind where they edited it to make her look like a bunny boiler so people would hate her and she would no longer be a threat to the C4 Chosen One)

Also the other people responsible for what happens are the tabloid newsletters. See how the Sun laid into her for being an actress, convieniently forgetting that so was Narinda)

If C4 and the tabloid press collude to make Myra Hindley seem like an exhalted saint compared to a housemate, what do you expect. I sometimes wonder why they don't just show a picture of the person with the repetition of "Hate, Hate, Hate" etc

Big Brother, has degenerated over the years and seems dedicated to cynical manipulation in a desparate bid for ratings. Perhaps it is time for this show to be consigned to the dustbin of history, they way things have gone.

Indeed Sticks...indeed.

GlitterEyes 13-08-2005 12:34 PM

She put herself on a gameshow and lied through her teeth and the public dont like that or how up her own backside she tends to be. The way she showed no remorse AT ALL was the moment for me i thought she was a total pathetic idiot pretty much what i thought of her inside the house. If nothing else it will teach her a lesson and maybe now she will start looking back and showing some remorse for what she did, she hasnt even said sorry to ant/his family/her own family for her antics....atleast kinga showed alot of remorse for the bottle thing on and off the show! They say its all panto and on pantos the "baddies" get boo'd plain and simple! Give it a few weeks and it will blow by.

I agree, the editing team and the tabloids have not done the housemates any favours this year. The press have whipped the public into a frenzy over housemates actions and explains why there has been this level of hate throughout the series culminating in Makosi's interview.

Most of the housemates have been booed this year, and two have had objects thrown at them from the crowd. Enough is enough.

GlitterEyes 13-08-2005 02:31 PM

I think alot of the hate towards Makosi in particular from the publics view has been building up, if the public had their way she would of been out weeks ago but the way nominations stopped that it would of been building up for sometime so when she was finally out the public are releaved in a way of saying "at last shes out" and wanted their views on her known and they did that in the best way they could of....they didnt throw stuff which we have seen done before...like apple at vanessa etc.
