I think there are,
girls reguarly think girls are good looking.
But the case with boys thinking other boys are good looking is only when the male is gay, so I reckon girls are nicer to look at.

That's because they're generally quite ignorant and oblivious to the fact that it's possible to find another male attractive, whilst still remaining heterosexual. Fact of the matter is, though, is that most, if not all, know this, yet would never admit it for fear of rejection and abuse from their peers, because they've been sucked into this imaginary, non-existant world in which being gay is 'wrong'.

Girls, on the other hand, will naturally compliment each others looks, and I'd imagine it's in the hope of receiving a compliment themselves, whilst making each other all feel a lot better about their appearence.

Totally agree. I am glad I am a girl and can say say things like this without being harrased about being gay. It's sad that boys don't realize it's okay.

I actually find that a lot of girls actually slag other attractive girls off, or find something to put them down about, especially glamour models and the like. I find jealousy like that pathetic tbh.

I agree that a lot of guys won't admit another guy is good looking though because it just isn't 'cool' and like you said, the risk of sounding 'gay'. Equally pathetic in my book.

Luckily my boyfriend doesn't fit into that category lol, he has to put up with me perving over other guys all the time lol but even he will admit that Johnny Depp is beautiful

Without generalising, I think girls naturally, especially when young and in todays society, take an interest in how other people look. They see it as one of, if not the most important thing in the world. Again, it's fear of rejection and people seeing them as 'ugly', so they feel the urge to make themselves look as 'perfect' as possible, and if they think someone else looks better than them, they're going to become jealous as a result of the 'attention' on them being lost. It's all pathetic though. Girls, and again, not generalising, can slag off anything, and I think part of it is boredom, simply. Of course, not all girls are like this, but the celebrity culture of today plays a huge part in it.

Am I making any sense at all? :joker:

:joker: I know exactly what you mean I agree with you. Too much pressure on girls especially to look a certain way, to be a certain dress size and have perfect hair and makeup etc etc, and if you don't look that way you feel inferior, so I guess I can see where that mentality comes from. I just say **** it, I'm never going to look like Cheryl Cole ffs so make the best of what you have and be done with it lol. I can understand with young girls, perhaps being bullied and stuff for not fitting 'the norm' or what is 'desirable' according to the media, it must be tough.

As arista would say...

Sign of the times.

Well at least I'm making sense. Definitely, I think you've summed it up there. In time, and with any luck, maybe things will change? Who knows, but I'd like to hope so, especially when it comes to admiring beauty, regardless of gender or sexuality.
