Did Emma say you've been giving Vinnie half your votes?

Did Emma just say you've been giving Vinnie half your votes?
Did she mean it literally? I hope not. Vinnie should come 5th!!!! I hope it's not true :(

Jonas or Alex to win!

Ghostinthehouse 27-01-2010 10:57 PM

Half of what?

soleila 27-01-2010 11:00 PM

As she introduced the Vinnie clip she said something like '....you've been giving him half your votes, it's Vinnie'
I took that to mean that half of all votes so far are for Vinnie to win, and she gave it away by accident.
Maybe I'm wrong, but that's how it immediately struck me...

soleila 27-01-2010 11:07 PM

Phew, looks like i was wrong! No one seems too concerned...

Shasown 27-01-2010 11:29 PM

No you were right, did you notice also how they ripped into Vinnie twice in the sketches, looks like he is miles out in front with the vote count.

Top Tip: If you planned on voting for any of the other housemates, dont bother, save your money its in the bag, Vinnies bag. Or you could always turn to the Dark Side and Vote Vinnie FTW.

Raph 27-01-2010 11:32 PM

aww i really hope now =(

Jonas, Stephanie, Alex or Dane to win it! <3

soleila 27-01-2010 11:39 PM

Well I'm in Ireland and can't vote anyways, but would be gutted if he won. I honestly think I'd change channel immediately rather than see him gloat.

Can't you try harder than that. Ooooo, that's the plan is it? try and convince people not to vote! Geez, that's lame. You must be worried that Vinnie is losing or you wouldn't post crap like that.

VOTE ALEX to WIN.

VOTE STEPHANIE to WIN.

VOTE JONAS to WIN.

VOTE DANE to WIN.

And don't forget Sov and Sisqo fans, Sov and Sisqo could have been in the final if Vinnie had got them nominated by bullying them!!!!!!!!

Is that the best come back you can think of? I guess it is! LOL.

Truth hurts eh! LOL.

Patrick 28-01-2010 12:42 AM

Even if Vinnie is in front, I doubt the producers would tell Emma of all people what the voting results are.

They dont evn tell Davina who is in the lead, so Emma just said that as he was the favourite I dont think its anything to do with the votes.

Because the voting lines are all done by computers and stuff, very few people find out who is in the lead.

If you actually believe that post Patrick you really are as green as you are cabbage looking.

*mazedsalv** 28-01-2010 08:07 AM

We must vote for Alex surely as the only way to stop him.
I think Vinnie has it in the bag :(

yousoboo! 28-01-2010 08:11 AM

Alex should win

Akerbie 28-01-2010 11:44 PM

She wouldn't know what the votes were anyway, in case of little slip-ups, such as suggested.

WTH are you on about now?

Its true, hardly any of the team at Elstree have a clue whos topped the votes.
Its all done by computer somewhere away from the house.

Thats why people that say its fixed are retarded.

An interesting little fact for you, seeing as you really are ignorant. During normal "on Air" days the production team leaders meet once a day unless there has been a panic, however during days when eviction lines are active they hold at least two production meetings, one mid morning, one late afternoon.

During these production meetings voting figures are discussed and highlight editing is decided. These meetings include the executive producer, creative producer, and their deputies, camera sound and editing staff, narration script writers etc . All in all at least 20 people, after the meeting they then go and carry out the policies decided at the meeting.

Anyone with any sense who then works under these people would quickly realise either by their words or the work allocated in favouring particular housemates roughly what way the votes are going.

You really are naive if you think it works any other way, thats why for the last few series its always been the "nice, innocuous" people who have won.

Who wins, you decide (but only after you have listened and watched our biaised programs). Incidentally thats the unofficial slogan among those who work there.

I firmly believe that the polices decided upon at such meetings necessarily have to have the objective of maximising viewing fugures so as to ensure the ad breaks are attractive to advertisers.

If an eviction is a foregone conclusion, people will choose to go to the pub rather than watching....same with finales.

They simply have to manipulate what comes across to keep the contests as seemingly 'close' and exciting as possible. Hence if one candidate is miles ahead 'to win', then paint them in an unfavourable light and give the others favourable highlights..........and so on It's just commercial sense.

Thanks for that.
I love hearing what goes on behind the scenes.

But your wrong, I said Emma had know knowledge of who was leading.
I said only workers at the studio High Up, know these things.

Your basically saying anyone at that meeting can GUESS who is at the top of the votes.
I would belive you if you had said the meeting goes like this..

Shirley Jones stands up and says 'Vinnie is going to win'

But you just said, and I Quote..
'Anyone with any sense who then works under these people would quickly realise either by their words or the work allocated in favouring particular housemates roughly what way the votes are going.'

Except that a remarkably high proportion of results fit the bookmakers' and opinion poll predictions, even when these are very clear.
So if they do attempt to "glorify" the loser to change the result (and that might be true) it doesn't seem to work very often.

I don't think people are suggesting they can rig or overturn probable results, nor that they have any wish to.

The suggestion is that editing which has regard to interim vote counts can make contests seem less clear cut and therefore more "exciting". This may or may not swing some actual votes in the process.

Thats about the sum total of it, viewers soon lose interest if its a one horse race. Lets face it that lovely clean cut winner Miss Reade had some great edits and Sea of Ash was made to look a bit of a prat, the last few days of BB10.

Anyways what the Feck do I know, the Boy Blunder Patrick knows best after all he is an extremely well written and knowledgeavble schoolboy.
