How many of you guys were here for the 1st ever BB?

Prob a thread done before but I was :) all we had then was a jittery internet feed for live stuff lol. 1st live memory was a basketball task. Oh how time moves on.

aye i was watching originally the highlight show was 5-10 mins a night at 11pm i think it was 20 mins on a wednesday night though (because tuesday was task day) then a single 1 hour show on a friday (30 mins highlights then 30 mins evivtion) if i remember rightly it was after about 2 weeks that it became evident it was a hit and ratings were great and the highlights were increased to either 20 mins a night or maybe 30 im not sure about that and 1 hour on a friday.
it was 10 pence to vote which was via landline only (mobiles cost more) but no text voting.

the live stream was only on the c4 website and was very jittery as a 56k connection was the norm at the time but it was 100% unedited it had swearing, name dropping and included visits to the diary room which was no more than a broom cupboard in the front room.
music and singing was unrestricted housemates were allowed to bring two books each in to read.
for the first 4 series of bb i could recite every single housemate that had ever entered the big brother house i was (and still am) obsessed with the programme but for me bb1 was/is still the best and i can still recite those names bb1 Andrew, Anna, Caroline, Craig, Darren, Melanie, Nichola, Nicholas, Sada and Tom.

damn im going to miss it :bawling::bawling:

Nah, the first one I watched was with Nadia - BB5.

Sticks 29-01-2010 06:52 AM

Actually to be pedantic and answer the question, nobody was, as Big Brother started in 2000 and TIBB did not come into being until 2001

I went out of my way to avoid it when it first came on and everyone I worked with was talking about it - then I got hooked and haven't looked back since - sadly I now work with people who hate the show hence I came on here but I'm not sure what I'm going to do when it ends - how sad am I? :bawling:

No, I used to call my sister sad for watching it ... how the tables have now turned! She stopped watching after BB7 and now I'm the sad one (although I know for a fact she has watched this CBB in secret)

I started watching during BB3, I watched the odd highlights show and then I really became addicted when one Saturday night I put C4 streaming on and Kate and Johnny were stuck in some clear tube after a task.

My first memory of BB is also ironically a basketball task! It was the first rich/poor thing I think.

I don't even know if TIBB was created in 2000. I think it was in 2001/2002 tho so James, Mark, Kaz and Sticks are the members from the very first generation.

Well, if I got the title right How many of you guys were here for the 1st ever BB?

I guess he/she meant which members were on TIBB when Big Brother 1 was on ? The answer is probably none because TIBB wasn't even created at this time.

That s the answer Captan - personally I can remember 1 as was into social experiment. I first got interested C4 forum where you could laugh BB7 wth adults - then downwards spirals to DS as that forum suks and even wanted Latoya win (middle-aged women). TIBB suks now as populated2 by 14 year olds..............I predct 4-6pm many sprogs want "Sov real wnner".

Started on C4 Forum, got barred, found DS and got barred. Now I am here, and I think I have been here since last summer.

MissKittyFantastico 29-01-2010 12:07 PM

Didn't use any forums until BB8 when I used the Ch4 forums but have been watching since the first series.

Only found this place last year, wish I'd known about it sooner really!

Jessica. 29-01-2010 12:13 PM

I was 7 when the first series was on
