Helping Haiti - Single Released, Your Verdict?

Simon Cowell's 'Helping Haiti' charity single is to premiere tomorrow, it has been confirmed.

The track, a cover of REM's 'Everybody Hurts', will receive its first radio plays across various UK stations from 8am tomorrow morning.

The single features vocals from a lineup of 21 well-known recording artists, singing in the following order: Leona Lewis, Rod Stewart, Mariah Carey, Cheryl Cole, Mika, Michael Bublé, Joe McElderry, Miley Cyrus, James Blunt, Gary Barlow, Mark Owen, Jon Bon Jovi, James Morrison, Alexandra Burke, Susan Boyle, Aston Merrygold, Marvin Humes, Shane Filan, Mark Feehily, Kylie Minogue and Robbie Williams.

It will go on sale this Sunday, but is available to pre-order now from Amazon. Proceeds will be divided equally between the Disasters Emergency Committee (DEC) and The Sun's 'Helping Haiti' appeal.

:) hope it does well.

I'm intrigued. Will probably disappoint though.

Goodbye Music

Braden 01-02-2010 08:19 PM

I hope it's good, I dunno why but I have hyped myself up for this.

Tom 01-02-2010 08:20 PM

The song is dreadful as it is, and couldn't be any more inappropriate. And its clearly just another vehicle for Simon's little puppets so we all think "aww aren't they being nice and singing for Haiti" and then go out and buy their next single

Jack_ 01-02-2010 08:20 PM

Heres hoping they'll play it on the Chris Moyles show first :)

Glad Rob is at the end, means I can turn it off before it ends, lol!

Fom 02-02-2010 07:46 AM

Its alright, not as amazing as I thought it would be. You can tell it was all recorded at different places. Leona sings most of it... its alright, I am going to buy it anyway.

LQ radio rip here

a bit meh really, there's far too many people IMO, everyone gets so little, some only have two words or so, poor Joe just sings "Hold on" in the background

Princess 02-02-2010 11:57 AM

It's rubbish,it all just sounds pieced together. But whatever,it's all for a good cause.

If it's tacky and badly produced, can't see it doing too well.

As for this it's a pretty shoddy attempt with no real emotion. Just seems proper rushed.

What a snorefest.

Can't see it doing well? Do you not know crazy fans but at all? :p All the people who sing in this have fans who will go and buy this, and it's for charity, that alone will get it to Number 1.

Leona Lewis, Rod Stewart, Mariah Carey, Cheryl Cole, Mika, Michael Bublé, Joe McElderry, Miley Cyrus, James Blunt, Gary Barlow, Mark Owen, Jon Bon Jovi, James Morrison, Alexandra Burke, Susan Boyle, Aston Merrygold, Marvin Humes, Shane Filan, Mark Feehily, Kylie Minogue and Robbie Williams.

Are from reality TV... hm. Says a lot about modern music.

Harry! 02-02-2010 04:43 PM

Kylie Minogue is my fave on the list. I am not buying the song as it is to boast Simon Cowell's ego. Would of much prefered the Hope For Haiti Concert on CD then this tbh.

Hope For Haiti Now Lineup > This Lineup

Its terrible and I still find it really inappropriate. Its almost as if the lyrics cheapen their pain if 'everybody hurts'.

Shaun 02-02-2010 05:37 PM

like James Blunt, Morrison, Gary Barlow, SuBo, Kylie and Robbie's bits...the rest is a bit :\

Really poor on the whole though.

Stacey. 02-02-2010 05:38 PM

:nono: Jedward are better though

Shaun 02-02-2010 05:39 PM

The only way they could possibly be better is if they were under the rubble in Haiti.

Jessica. 02-02-2010 05:45 PM

The only part I enjoyed was when subo had about 3 lines on her own, I didn't even hear miley cyrus, michael bublé.
