Parents' Evenings

I had my parents evening for this year yesturday, it went well, a few 'you need to concentrate a bit harder in class' but in general was good!

But, who finds them so awkard??
I find myself just sat there with my mum nodding say 'yeah' all the time!
And then when the teacher is finished with you, your not quite sure so it goes to a bit of an awkard silence and your thinking 'can I go now?', aha.

Is it just me? Or are most peoples a bit like that?

AND they always end up running late, I missed 2 appointments! :joker:

Jords mate same here, mine was last month.
I just sat there nodding saying yeah, except for my English Fit Teacher where when she was talking I was looking at her clevage saying Yeaahhh.

I love them though because you can just act like a prat and do what you want and if the teachers give you greif just say 'My Dad will fuck you up!'

I stayed away from the teachers I have a bad relationship with, like the Sciene teacher I called a Lesbian and told her to go play with her Dildo, and then I found out she actually is a lesbian... So I stayed away from her :)

:joker:

Yeah, I prefer the atmosphere actually. They always stick on some fake act like they're really nice, and wouldn't dare to shout at you or anything like they usually would, obviously afraid of the parents.

Mine are usually alright, gets a little awkward when they're like 'needs to focus more' etc.

Agree, they always act nice.
Our Home Ech teacher is a strict bitch but she was like hitting on my brother and stuff and acting all nice and then the next day she was a bitch to me again.

Yeah I hate when it starts off all nice and then they end it with 'Focus more or stop chatting'
My ICT teacher hates me, shes obviously jealous of me.
So she was like 'Patrick needs to learn to type' and my mum just said 'He can type perfectly fast thank you!'
:)

I was hoping for a bitch fight but no luck.

We never got to go to ours. Mine was funny,a lot of teachers thought I was quiet  It would depend what subject it was though,my Home Ec teacher barely let my dad sit down before telling him to go cos I was doing fine and he had an argument with my math teacher, lol! Ah I don't miss school.

Stacey. 11-02-2010 06:44 AM

yeah, i always find the same!!
and then you get up when you think its over, then they start talking, so you sit back down again :laugh2:

I used to LOVE parents' evenings.
I used to get on well with pretty much all my teachers so I never had anything to worry about, and if I did, my parents wouldn't hesitate to defend me.

I remember being told off by my dad because I had this deformed history teacher who had twisted arms and hands. I never warned my dad and he walked in and tried to shake hands and was offered some strange claw in return.

Crimson Dynamo 11-02-2010 08:32 AM

I went to one once and was disappointed to find that I could not trade my parents for newer versions. "Apparently" its not about that!

yeah right
